Continental Electric CP43021 Classic Iron, Medium, Silver

I've been trying to find a quality affordable iron for a while. I bought several plastic ones that were so blah, too thin, flimsy, spitting water, not making steam, not getting very hot. It was disappointing. This one is great. It has a good weight, makes lovely steam, heats quickly, it's great!

Great iron. No frills. Built to last.

Have used 3 times. 3 times it has behaved as a typical iron. Steams, heats, gets hot and flattens fabrics.No leaking as of yet and I have only used on linen sheets and cotton blend drapes / panels. Made sure to empty it completely before storing, no rust.Cord is a good length and flexible.Sits well even on fairly high pile carpet.Water reserve is a tad small, have to refill often on large items, but not by any means a deal breaker.No issues with it whatsoever.

Not good

Purchased on 1/23/23. The iron was used weekly for 1 year and month until the cord shorted and caught fire at internally at its mounting point. seems like it shoul dhave some sort of thermal protection to keep this from happening.

The iron is great but the cord could be longer, the iron will not reach the end of the ironing board without an extension cord attached.
