Great toy, trim the hair.
Moose arrived yesterday and was an INSTANT hit with our 5month old sharpei-beagle mix who is an aggressive biter and rips through just about everything instantly. I love the thickness and durability, although I am a bit worried about the main body of the toy, I’m not sure what’s inside there (apart from a squeaker) or how long it might take to create a rip in it. But it does have good reviews so I’m hopeful! It seems very sturdy, is cute, the dog loves it, there are crinkley sounds from the antlers, and a squeaky belly, so it’s a great “baby”. The one thing I will say about a dog toy that has “hair” on it, is that, it sort of doesn’t make sense. The beard got ripped off this Moose about one minute after playing with it, and I had to fish the “hair” ball out of puppy’s mouth, and then give Moose a “haircut”. He still looks awesome with his shorter “do” and it wasn’t difficult to trim. Just should maybe come that way, is all.

A three-generation dog toy,
This orange corduroy Moose by HuggleHounds was the favorite toy of my first Australian Cattle Dog (ACD) for the last several years of her life. She passed away in my arms at age 16. For most of those years, she shared Moose with her "adopted daughter," my second generation ACD, who loved it too. Their favorite mode of play was shaking it violently by one of its 4 legs, throwing it as high toward the ceiling as possible, watching it fall, and doing it all over again. The ceiling fan did suffer a couple of near-fatal hits. I did have to sew a couple of legs back onto Mr. Moose over the years, and the squeakers expired about Year Three. But other than that, this wonderful toy remained intact through two generations. I have never seen a dog toy with seams as sturdy as those in HuggleHounds Moose. And the heavy corduroy material never ripped or gave in to the powerful bite of two strong Cattle Dogs, although the squeakers finally gave in to external biting from two sets of very strong jaws. As you may know, Australian Cattle Dogs live to bite -- no, not their much loved owners, but rather the stampeding back legs and hooves of cattle and sheep which the ACD is fearlessly herding across rough ground. Despite years of rough play and tug-of-war between the two ACDs, this toy survived it all, plus many washes in a front-loading washer and hot dryer. And so naturally when my third Cattle Dog puppy arrived last month, with its needle-sharp teeth and its "biting ways," I thought of Mr. Moose. I wanted to give Sydney a gift that had been used by my two prior generations of Cattle Dogs. And Mr. Moose was willing and able. But I just could not bear the thought of moving Mr. Moose from his honored place on top of my Japanese chest of drawers - sitting between the two carved teakwood urns which hold the ashes of my first two beloved Australian Cattle Dogs. And so to Amazon I went, to buy Mr. Moose #2, for Cattle Dog #3. When I presented it to her, with a tear rolling down my cheek, she grabbed it ... and immediately began to shake it by a leg with all of the strength in her 10-week old body - and she threw it as high as it would go. Mr. Moose narrowly missed landing a disabling hit to the ceiling fan, so here we go again. Buy it. It will last for generations.

Only lasted a couple minutes with this little chewer
I was so excited to get this cute toy for an adorable little dog. She's known for being a chewer even though she's not very big. I thought I was going to really hit the jackpot when I found this toy. I read the reviews and the seller's info about the toy and believed I was getting one super tough toy. When she received the cute little moose it was love at first sight. She was SO excited! There must be a smell/attractant on these toys. The other dog came running too. After a great deal of sniffing and excitement (very cute!) the little one sat down and (of course) started to chew on the toy. No problem, because THIS toy was purchased specifically to handle her. Wrong. Within a couple of minutes, literally, she'd removed the front leg and was working on the other one. :(. I was so disappointed. I returned the item, and to the seller's credit, I didn't receive any trouble getting my money back. I just wish it had lived up to what I was told I was getting... I'm really confused by the reviews since the material didn't seem to be much more than corduroy and a thin layer of another material. How is that supposed to stop a die hard chewer? Well, for this furry little customer it didn't work, but it sounds like it has for many others.

good and sturdy
My fuzzy baby absolutely loves this toy. She’s a 61lb pit terrier that loves to play, loves everybody and is super smart. She plays hard with her toys and this one is standing up good to that. All squeekers are gone lol except for the belly but she’s still running around squeaking that one and having a ball

Surprisingly durable
There first day we gave our puppy this toy we were disappointed at how quickly she began to get pieces of it shredded. So for the first few days we felt we had to watch her with the toy. But then we started to realize that it was more sturdy than we thought. It seems the feet/ toes and ears were shredded off within the first 10-30 minutes and that’s what bummed us out. But since then she can’t seem to get anything else ripped off and overall it has remained a lot more durable than I initially thought. It’s becoming her favorite toy now. First thing she does every day when she wakes up is she goes out to her pillow and checks that it’s there. It’s so adorable! So I would now recommend this toy to anyone with a rough chewer BUT my only feedback is on the ears and feet. We actually removed 2 of the squeakers from the feet that she started ripping because we were worried she’d get them out and maybe swallow or choke on them (because they are small and a dangerous size). But all that being said, I will buy again once this one runs its course. Just wanted to share some constructive feedback from my pup to you.

30 Minutes to Destruction
This is not quite as durable as it is touted to be. Our 50 lb Airedale disemboweled it in about 30 minutes. Oh, the viscera explosion! Did she enjoy it? Yes Is she a bit feral? Also yes. I will probably not buy another one. It just didn’t hold up. But to be fair, I have a hard time finding stuffed companions that survive her tender ministrations for more than a couple of hours In the first picture, you can see a bit of the green scalp in the middle of the stuffing explosion. In the second picture (after I cleaned up) you can see her resource guarding it.

My dog's best friend!
My Lena is a power-chewer and will destroy every single toy in a matter of days (sometimes even hours). I was skeptical about buying her essentially a cloth toy, as she's destroyed others like it. I bought her the moose on April 28, and she discovered its weak spot day one and I feared the worst. She ripped the little beard off of it, but otherwise Mr. Moose stayed intact. Over the course of a few days, she removed three out of four of the mini squeakers from the limbs. But for some reason, she seemed content to just gnaw at him and take little bits out instead of full-out destruction. She wanted to carry Mr. Moose everywhere and didn't seem to want to ruin him right away. She quickly favored the little orange moose over all of her toys. She even sleeps with him on the couch and has carried him to bed with her! However, on May 20, Mr. Moose is meeting a sad end. We were playing a bit of tug and tore a small hole at the neck and that was it. With his weakness found, Mr. Moose is currently being disemboweled. Once I clean up the stuffing, I'll see what's left and decide whether to keep him around for awhile longer. Since she loved Mr. Moose so much, I'm hesitant to part with him. I will definitely be purchasing her a new little friend as soon as this one is sufficiently destroyed! UPDATE: Her original Moose is still around, currently in a pile of toys in the living room. Lena still loves her Moose and lays down to gnaw at him all the time. I'll probably clean house of all her mostly-destroyed toys and start fresh, but that Moose will be the first to be replaced!

Duke loves this toy
Duke carries it around with him everywhere with the utmost care. He's my 125 lb rescue dog who never had any kind of toy in his life. It's his absolute treasure. I'm very pleased with this toy.

Hat leider nicht lange überlebt
Meine junge Schäferhündin hat das Teil innerhalb von kurzer Zeit zerlegt. Geliebt hat sie den Hasen dennoch aber leider zu teuer für sie Größe und die Haltbarkeit.

Actually Durable
This is the first supposedly durable plush toy I've bought for my dog that has managed to withstand her chewing for more than a day or two - and it's still going strong a couple weeks later! She did eventually manage to chew one of the arms off, but a quick trim and the toy is back to being safe for her to play with, and the limb loss doesn't appear to have weakened the toy overall. Limb design also meant she wasn't able to get the squeaker out and try to eat it, which is definitely a bonus! I do suggest trimming off the tuft of fur on the head as soon as you get it though. If your dog is anything like mine, they'll immediately start pulling it out and eating it. I'll definitely be buying more of these huggle hounds toys in future.

Durable and as Described
Exactly as described. Although it can still be destroyed, this has now lasted a month for my dog that normally destroys his toys in a week. The ears are a bit flimsier than the rest, but the squeakers everywhere means that he's able to destroy one bit and still play with the toy. I will add though that he doesn't enjoy this toy as much as his others and I think it's because of the difficulty in destroying it. However, that's not the toy's fault as it is exactly as described.

Robustes Spielzeug
