Interesting, useful and trustworthy
Excellent book that can serve as both an interesting read and reference for preschool and daycare managers, caregivers, parents, grandparents and teachers. It is readable, and totally trustworthy. I could have saved a lot of time and worry if I had had such a resource when my son was young!

Very Useful - Unlike the Internet
I borrowed this book from my kid's preschool. As a non teacher, I do not think I am the target market for this book. However, as a parent in 2013 I am overwhelmed with both useful and useless information when it comes to illnesses with my kids. I have yet to find a way to clearly sort one from the other. This book did that with clarity and evidence, actual science, not celebrity conspiracy theories which tend to clog the Internet and magazines.Very useful, and I highly recommend this book to parents in the age of the Internet.

Valuable Resource for Parents
Trusted information about an illness is not always easy to find when it matters most -- when your child is sick at home and internet sources provide a dizzying variety of explanations. This book is a resource that can be trusted. With straightforward explanations of how illnesses are transmitted, how you can decrease chances of infection, how to treat, and whether antibiotics are appropriate, this book has been a great resource for my family. Even after a visit to the doctor for a diagnosis, this book will answer the questions you forgot to ask. I would recommend it to parents and to preschools for its thorough but accessible content.

Excellent reference for parents.
As a parent it is essential to have quality information on hand when making decisions. Especially in the age of Internet searching. This book provides excellent, evidence informed reference for parents who are assessing the infection and disease prevention practice of a potential day care facility. This book allows me to feel confident in the knowledge I am building, I don't always feel confident after obtaining information from the Internet. But this reference is very well written and organized in a no-nonsense, easy to read manner.

Comprehensive Guide
This book is comprehensive in its treatment of infections and examines in detail over 50 specific infections. The book also has sections addressing the transmission of infections and the particular issues facing certain high risk children, such as young infants and children with disabilities. It is reassuring having access to such an informative tome. I recommend this book to anyone wanting more information on infections facing young children.

Well Written
I have been a preschool teacher for over 15 years and this book is a welcome addition to my personal library. It is extremely informative, well written and easy to understand. The information presented under Infection Control, which includes Recommendations for Personnel, Parental Advice, Recommendations for Other Children, etc., is invaluable! I can see myself referring to it often in the future, as well as sharing it with my peers. A must have for anyone in the child care field!

Excellent Resource
Dr. Grossman's book about infection control in the child is well written and informative. At a time of increased infectious risk in our nation, it is a welcome resource. I await her sequel written for parents of children. William Lynes, MD and Patrice Lynes, RN

Excellent reference book
This is an extremely informative book. Well laid out...the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment and parental advice. With so much false information on the internet, it is nice to know I have a trusted resource on my bookshelf I can refer to.This is definitely a tool that every parent and childcare should have.
