Perfect set-up all in one package...
This kit comes with everything you need to polish metal. I took the guards and grinding wheels off an old 6" grinder I had. I installed the buffing wheels and had the machine buffing parts in only a few minutes. It comes with roughing blocks for course, fine, and extra fine. I didn't notice a brown block since it looked like I got two grey blocks; not a big deal for me since the three grits do exactly what I need. If you are doing jewelry, then you need the extra fine that this kit provides, but the fine will be enough to finish most general polishing. Because there are three different grades of roughing blocks, the kit also comes with three different grades of buffing wheels. You need these to keep from mixing the grits of the roughing blocks onto the same wheels. The instruction manual is clear on how to use the kit and to get a good polish. It also shows which roughing grades to use on which metals. So far I have polished about 23 steel, brass, and iron parts with great results. I also buffed plastic parts; one of which were the plastic headlights on a car. This kit had them looking almost new.I am very happy with this kit and glad I didn't spend the money to buy the items separately.UPDATE: Its been 1.5 years since I started using this kit. I have used it so much that the wheels now need to be replaced and I need more roughing blocks. So, I just bought another one of these kits on sale since it was cheaper than buying all the parts separately. I have buffed so many things that I wonder how I ever got along without it before. I even cleaned up some of my wife's jewelry.

Works decently but it spits out lint like nothing other.
Good value for the money, 3 different wheels and 4 compounds. I used it for removing hairline scratches from expensive japanese knives that were caused by cheap plastic blade guards. They weren't very deep but were noticeable in certain light. I used fine sandpaper 1k-1.5k-2k-2.5k to prep the knives. I only used the coarse white disc and the fine finishing disc. The instructions are somewhat understandable and I was off. After some time they came out mirror polished. I'm looking for other things around the house to polish next.Tip use this at the lowest RPM setting as possible on your benchgrinder and increase if you want but if you go too high it's a lintstorm. The compounds feel a bit dry but applies to the spinning discs well. I'd go heavy for best results and there is plenty.I'd say this kit will last me quite some time probably a few years, but I'd buy it again if I need to replace.

Surprisingly impressive set!
I am very impressed with this package. (I haven't used it yet, and I may come back and modify it.) It has three solidly constructed wheels, each between 3/4" and 1" thick. I would expect to pay as much for the wheels if I bought them individually as I paid for the entire kit. They lack reinforcement around the holes, and I may have to use washers; but they are tightly sewn, so maybe not. There are also four sticks of buffing compound, not the big pound-size sticks but big enough to last for a long, long time in a home workshop. Again, I haven't tried them yet; I am assuming that each has the level of grit that each color denotes. Oh, and there is no green, if you are looking to polish stainless steel; but the set includes both the black and the white, and a stick of green shouldn't be too expensive. (If I'm disappointed with it, I'll be back; otherwise my first impression will have been correct!)

Works good - prepare surface prior to use
this is a decent buffing and polishing kit. follow the instructions and order you a good mandrel for your drill - if you plan to use a drill with this kit. you can find one on Amazon under "screw mandrel polishing sanding grinding machine 1/2" from findingking. It is the best mandrel for the pads in this kit that I have used. If you are polishing aluminum wheels make sure they have not been painted with clear coat to protect the finish - as most of them are. That finish has to be removed prior to polishing. Paint remover and a brush from the hardware store will remove the finish. Follow the instructions on the can. Then this kit will make your wheels shine with a mirror finish. Good luck!

Easy to use with great results
This kit worked very well. Teamed with a bench polisher this is easy to get results with as long as you follow the order of the polishes and use the correct wheels with the matching stick. So far it’s allowed me to restore a set of old wheels to like new (had to strip and hand sand first though), refinish my car grill to a mirror polish and also is working great to shine up a valve cover for my buddy’s car.I will definitely purchase this again or the individual pieces of the kit as needed. I paired this kit with a Powertec BF6000 bench polisher.

It'll buff out
Let me start off by saying the price alone keeps this from getting 3 stars, the only thing keeping it from 5 is that the buffing compounds were a little dry when I received the item. I slightly remedied this by storing them in a Tupperware container with a little bit of water. The wheels themselves appear to be well manufactured and are so far holding up great. Upon first use you do get a few pieces of string that fly off but that is to be expected. Overall for the price of all this (plus a little tap water) you cant beat it.

Works well. Wish it came with the arbor.
This kit helped me bring some older polished aluminum car wheels in need of a little TLC back to life. I do wish it would've come with the 1/2" arbor needed to mount it to a drill. Another improvement would be to include a smaller wheel and a cone shaped polisher for getting into the tight spots. But the stiff wheel that comes with the kit is a good size and type to polish car wheels with a hand drill.

Not quite what I was looking for
This seems to work ok. I cant really say it does an outstanding job. The quality of the wheels again is ok. It will do what I need it to do, but I don't think it would hold up to daily use. I was using it to polish the chrome emblems off of a vehicle, so if your use will be for something different, say polishing old jewelry, it may work fine for that.
