I just wanted to explain which type of book I would like to get hold of
The general idea of metal polishing is quite OK.I am working with very acurate optical instruments and for me it is not enough that a surface is shining, it must also be very flat. I missed photos and microscope measurements of the width and depth of the schratches for different grits. By means of such photos and measurements, you will know exactly which sanding you shall start with after you have produced the surfaces in a leather machine for example. In the same way you can compare different polishing compounds so that you are able to buffer the surfaces as quick as possible so that the surface flatness is not spoiled. I have started to produce such photos and measurements for brass. You have to produce such tables for each metal type. This does by no means mean that I am dissatisfied with the book. I just wanted to explain which type of book I would like to get hold of.Best regards Lars S.

Polishing Tips
Pretty good book has some good tips. Recomend It for the beginer. Need to add section on getting rust out of gas tanks (motorcycle). Add a hand full of nuts and bolts to tank wrap it up real good add a few pillows to your dryer and turn on ,no heat, gets the rust out.

Random Tips and tricks.. No step by step instruction
Book has some good random tips tips and techniques. The book however does not go in any sort of logical order and not not teach the process of polishing any given piece from start to finish. Just random wisdom from a guy that has been doing this a long time. Good info, but not the type of book I was hoping for.

The printing is poor and difficult to follow
This book contains nothing but common sense "tips". No real value. The printing is poor and difficult to follow. I threw it in the trash after reading it. It does not warrant a space on my book shelf of reference material.

Excellent
The title explains it perfectly. The information is well organized and presented. As a beginner with no experience with polishing, I found this book to be an excellent resource for equipment specifics and techniques.

Worth the money.
Some good info, and techniques. If you have no knowledge in this field, then purchase this book. For that person, it's a good guide.
