Hayward W3AQ-TROL-RJ AquaTrol Salt Chlorination System for Above-Ground Pools up to 18,000 Gallons with Return Jet Fittings, Straight Blade Line Cord and Outlet

Everything was beautiful for several months ... board melted inside case, it was replaced by Hayward. After a year the salt cell went bad ... so I had to replace that ($800) but this one has a 3 year warranty. Do I have to haul clorine jugs back and forth? "No" and I'm 66 so I appreciate that !! Can be costly .. be sure to get extended warranty!Do I love my AquaTrol? ..."Yes!!"

I wish the manual would mention how to winterize this. Also it could mention in the trouble shooting section that the check salt and check salt light would illuminate until you had the correct amount of salt was in. Other than that once it was up and running it worked great.

Having a hard time clearing my pool water up. Although I don't believe it is the salt system itself, as I live in South Florida where it is constantly sunny and I have almost no shade over my pool (ya know so leaves don't fall it in). It started green like swamp water but now it s cloudy blue shade. Getting to sparkling and clear but so far, I don't have a strong chlorine smell which is great. I hope once my kids swim it more their blonde hair won't have a chance to get the green tint that sometimes happens. It was easy to install and after reading the instructions and consulting with our pool supply company it was easy to set up correctly. Happy we bought it and ready to swim more this summer :)

This product replaces an old Intex chlorinating unit. The installation was very easy. All I can say is wow, what a difference. The pool water was clear before, but now you can really see a difference in the clarity. The timer in the control box makes pool maintenance easier, and the digital display tells you what you the pool temperature, salt level, and the basic health of the cell that clorinates the water. Loving it so far.

I purchased the Aquatrol RJ Salt Chlorination system in hopes that it would perform as well as my other Hayward products. In short, I was wrong. The unit was installed and within a month and a half, the circuit board stopped working and the unit was dead. I contacted Hayward and they referred me to a local pool supplier for warranty repair. The local supplier was not able to complete the repair, as they are not a Chlorination system repair facility. I contacted Hayward again and a repair ticket was opened. I waited for over ten days for a reply for the service ticket. I followed the instructions and found another local Hayward dealer that was certified for the repair. The unit has been in the repair shop for over two weeks. I have followed up and Hayward has approved the warranty repair and the shop is waiting for the new circuit board. By the time the repairs are completed, I expect that it will be time to shut the pool down for the season. I have already lost my entire 2023 pool season based on this faulty product. I am very let down with Hayward. I have always used Hayward pumps and filters. They performed flawlessly and have been very robust. This purchase has really made me rethink my high opinion of Hayward products. All that I can say is, buyer beware regarding the Aquatrol RJ product.

Soo happy I canceled the Blue Works unit and went with this Hayward unit. What a great deal as we saved a tone of money! We took a bit of a gamble as no one could actually tell me what the difference was in this W3AQ-TROL-RJ unit Over the AQ-TROL-RJ model we are a custom to. It does have the T-CELL-5 which was my biggest concerns so that was a relief and we did find out later that this model is a direct replacement for the AQ-TROL-RJ units. . Everything was plug and play based on my previous system so we were up and running in less than 30 minutes! The real only difference I see in this unit is the fittings they supply. You will need to purchase a extra G1-132527-20 Union Adapter (only 1 included in the box) if you want to hard plumb the cell and install a shut off valve on the return for easy cell removal and cleaning. These Union Adapters say they are 2" but the hole actually measures around 2 3/8" So you will need to gets some 2 3/8" to 2" PVC Reducer bushings from one of the big box hardware stores. We've tried the no name brand components on and off for 3 years and had nothing but frustration. Great to have a Hayward system back on our pool!

On my second pool season this device stopped to work. All lights are on, including super chlorine, but doesn't generate any chlorine. Checked with different test strip right on discharge hose. So expensive and unreliable at all. It is in a way cheaper just to buy stabilized chlorine and add manually. There is no option to claim problem with order on amazon after 1 year of purchase. And all of this for 1400CAD? No thanks, never again. Waste of money
