So much better than my more expensive Zebco. Fast and smooth retrieve, easy casting and drag is easy to change and maintain. Even the line on the spool seemed fresh with no tangling issues.

This is the 3rd best spincaster I've used in 30 years of fishing. Better quality than my second, though, overall. You won't get a better one for the price. Casts very smooth, very good distance with the right lures/ weight, and the build quality is great. A little heavy, but you can tell it's solid and will last. Very happy with this spincaster at this price, I'd pay more 😆

Well I’m really torn on how to rate this reel. I just used it for the first time and was initially very impressed! I was casting further than ever before. I had dozens and dozens of casts with no problems! Then it happened. I made a cast and the line suddenly went taught and the lure dropped a few yards from the dock. I tried to reel it in but the whole thing was bound up. I had retrieved the lure before it had a chance to snag on a rock on the lake bottom and then removed the housing from the reel to figure out what was happening. The line had wrapped around the shaft forward of the spool! Not only that but I noticed a loop of line protruding from the spool. (See my photo) I had to cut a bunch of line in order to get the line off from around that shaft. Then I pulled off yards and yards of additional line to find the origin of that loop. I took off way more line than I had been able to cast out so this loop was clearly a result of a problem when the line was applied at the factory. A lot of critical reviews seem to note flaws with the spool being pre-wrapped with line. Maybe they should just sell the reel with a spool of line and let people wrap it themselves. After I spent at least a half hour correcting this mess I finally got back to fishing. The reel performed well for the remainder of the time. It really does provide for a great cast. You just might want to remove the line it comes with and apply your own. Update: KastKing contacted me regarding my concerns with the prespooled line and offered to send me replacement line. As such I’m modifying my rating. I’m supportive of any company that stands behind their products and offers solutions without excuses!

This is an update to my original review. I have purchased two of these reels and they are better than I expected. They are well designed and manufactured. They run as smoothly as advertised. I fished with one of the reels for a while and enjoyed it without exception. However I just used the second reel this week. The reel performs as well as the first but the fishing line that came installed was a disappointment. The line had so many nicks in it that it broke every place I checked it. I’m sure this is just a one off situation but I would check it out before I fished with it. I have to replace this line at my expense.

This reel casts extremely smooth right out of the box and the 10lb crystal clear mono fishing line is a plus! I didn’t have to clean or oil it at all. I paired this with a Pinnacle UB662CAM and it works perfectly well! I took the combo out to Garner State Park to fish the Frio River and had zero issues. I definitely recommend this reel for anyone who wants a quality reel that provides smooth casting at an affordable price that doesn’t break the bank. You absolutely do not need to go buy a tournament edition of everything to fish and have a great weekend. Go and buy one!

Love this reel! It's so much better than a zebco 33 as far as quality. And the price doesn't break your bank either.

This reel performed exceptionally well on our 5 day fishing trip and it landed numerous Bass and even a surprise Northern Pike. It feels well constructed and the bearings make it super smooth, my favorite feature is the reversible handle..

OK, I heard about this being a great reel for the price, all positive reviews, no bad ones. So I went ahead and got one. Out the box it was good, nice quality. I paired with a brutus casting rd (7ft m/h) and it was a unit. Very smooth long cast, easy semi fast retrieve. Everything was great , until I got caught in weeds, pulling out of weeds, put some tension on line. I didn't think nothing of it, been pulling out of weeds forever. Only issue was, on the next cast, everything got tangled bad. Had to quit for the day, took forever to cut and clean out the mechanics to get the button to work. OK so I thought it was just a one of. But low and behold, yesterday just tossing a popper, got caught in weeds, cleared weeds, then instantly tangled again. 2xs in a week, im not sold on these, if it jams one more time, its going back. Never had a spincast do this.

Looks and works well so far. Feel Solid
