What is the length of Average and what is the depth of the pockets?

I am five feet seven and the pants are long enough. I ordered size 14 Average. I have washed them five or six times and also dried them in the dryer and they have not drawn up. The pockets are deep enough for my cell phone 6s.

What is a size 12a (as opposed to 12p); what's the significance of the "a"? see no reference to it on the size chart.

Size 12 A is for average height like if you are 5' 5" and above. Size 12P is for petite like 5'4" and under. I am 5'4" and size 12P is perfect length for me when I am wearing tennis shoes or flats. So if you want to wear heels, you might want to a longer length. Hope this helps.
