Great price for a great monitor
Great display, crisp screen, loved the resolution, I mean, this monitor is just great. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What you get: -one 23.6 inch monitor -one stand -power connector back panel: -one vga port -one hdmi port -one headphone jack -one power plug-in -one screen lock pro: -full control option with various pre-set modes. -simple to use navigation system -easy set up -crisp LED display, 1920x1080 pixels -sleek design -tilt screen con: -outdated vga port -does not come with hdmi cable -one height I was in the process of replacing my outdated electronics and the computer monitor which I rely upon everyday was one of the first. Now, i was not much of a monitor expert, at first I had my mind set on the Acer G226HQL 21.5-Inch Screen LED Monitor, which was on sale for less than 100 dollars and this monitor for about 150. I thought, why not go for the cheaper one, I WAS WRONG. The Acer monitor has a fatal flaw which was its display brightness, I would say the lowest brightness on the Acer monitor could match this monitor at about 50%. Of course this monitor can be quite bright as well. But for me, who prefer a normal to dim display, the Acer was just blinding. Another thing I discovered was the significant increase in color detail and riches when this monitor is put side to side with the Acer one. The black is simply, deeper, and darker. I would not recommend purchasing a 24 inch monitor under 100 dollars. note: The Acer monitor was just an example for comparison, this is not a rant towards the Acer company as these two monitors also have a significant difference in price. FYI: This monitor does not come with HDMI cable, so if you want to enjoy it as soon as possible, I recommend purchasing the AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable, for about 5 dollars so it's shipped along. A few issues other reviewers have mentioned, -yellow tint, not to me, the white was perfect, and contrast was high. -wobbling stand, again, not to me, the monitor sits very stable in the stand. I strive to make my reviews as detailed and helpful as possible. Any commendations is appreciated. If you have any concern or questions feel free to post a comment below and I will try to answer them as soon as possible.

Thank you Samsung
Great picture with crisp resolution. Controls over brightness, contrast, sharpness, RGB, Gamma, Game/Cinema/Standard mode, image size, and many other elements. It really allows you to get the best quality image from your computer onto the monitor, and then customize to your liking. The EyeSaver mode is pretty innovative. Up until now we've had to rely on apps and software to give you that feature - and it really does help. I use the monitor mainly for video editing with my MacBook Pro and it does an excellent job of clearly and accurately displaying the image without pixelation thanks to Samsung's Magic Upscale. The design is sleek and space saving. The base takes up about 7.5" from front to back, the total height with the stand is 16", and then the screen is 21" wide. It fits nicely on most desks and the base is T-shaped so it leaves plenty of desk space under the monitor as well. The power/adjustment joystick in the back is different but good. it simplifies the controls down to a single button which cleans up the screen and makes it a little easier to navigate. It does take a little getting used to though (Samsung does this for a lot of their screens so if you've had one before, it's nothing new). The 3.5mm headphone aux jack is very useful for connecting to my MacBook because I can just leave my desktop speakers hooked into the monitor while I connect both audio and visual from my laptop through a single hdmi cable. The power cord is slim and non-bulky which makes it aesthetically pleasing and space saving. The AC plug is angled so the cord lays flat next to whatever outlet it's plugged into. It does have a small adapter box on it (3.75" x 1.5" x 1") so just be aware of that. In summary, this is a quality, sturdy, aesthetically modern, space saving, and affordable monitor to be used as a desktop screen or an external screen for a laptop.

Superb Mid-Tier Monitor
Given the plethora of lower quality TN panels encroaching the price of this 24-inch PLS monitor, the S24E390HL delivers picture quality comparable to more expensive models with the help of minor calibrations. Colors are vivid and mostly accurate, and response lag remains unnoticeable unless scrutinized for function. The panel has a nearly complete 180 degrees viewing angle; being a non-PWM panel, the monitor is also, fortunately, flicker-free. The sRBG coverage, though not complete, will have all but the most demanding users (e.g. graphic professionals) satisfied. Your results may vary, but please note the following settings for calibration. Monitor: Brightness-60; Contrast-75; Sharpness-60; MagicBright-Custom; HDMI Black Level-Normal; Red-47; Green-45; Blue-46; Gamma-Mode3 Graphics: change to "full" dynamic output (many graphics settings do not by default) The monitor itself leaves a professional, understated look with a thin, even bezel. Though the design is pleasing, Samsung decided to cut costs on materials. Even if the construction seems solid, the result is a slightly wobbly stand. Adjustment is highly limited to only tilt, and the monitor has no speakers. As for features, the lack of a VESA mount may disappoint some users. While the monitor has the minimum one HDMI and one VGA input, it lacks DVI support completely. For under $200, this monitor provides a rather similar experience for average consumers compared to higher-tiered monitors priced around $300. Given that, one can easily overlook the lack of features and average material quality. This monitor deserves 4.5 stars, if only Amazon allowed it. Highly recommended if you're looking for a good monitor with superb picture production on a budget!

Great Monitor--you will NEVER get the monitor stand off without ...
Great Monitor--you will NEVER get the monitor stand off without damaging the monitor or the stand. Also, do not buy this (or many Samsung monitors) unless you are 100% certain you never want to mount them on a wall or a monitor stand. These and other Samsung monitors do NOT have VESA mounting holes on the back! I didn't realize that when I bought three 27" Samsung monitors--I foolishly assumed ALL monitors had these four screw holes on the back of them. The REASON I bought the three Samsung monitors is that they're the ONLY monitors that do not have a mile wide bezel all the way around them. I want my three monitors to be as physically close as possible so that the gap between them is very small. So, I bought VESA mount adapters and Gorilla glued them to the backs of these Samsung VESA-less monitors. Now I have three Samsung monitors mounted on monitor stand poles on the back of my desk--no Samsung monitor stands on my desk. And I have three monitors without a mile wide gap at their edges.

I love it!
It's a very good monitor and the PLS panel makes everything look so much better than my old TN. This monitor is perfect as a secondary screen when I want to do homework, watch videos, or shop on Amazon. It has a range of color/contrast options that can be tuned to your liking. I tried playing Battlefield 4 and I could tell the difference from my 5ms (trace free option) PLS vs this monitors (fast response option) 4ms PLS. It is noticeably smoother but not 60+hz smooth. This is a wonderful multi-purpose monitor with beautful colors and was well worth the $190.74 I paid for it. Don't even bother with a TN panel because once you get a IPS/PLS monitor, you'll wonder how you managed using a monitor with washed out colors. You deserve it, spoil yourself.. I also bought this is Very Good condition from Amazon and it looks near perfect to me (except for this sticker stuck in the bezel). I can live with that and will remove it some day!

Very nice monitor
This is really a very nice monitor for the money. Very bright and clear, good color, attractive appearance and solidly built. Good size for desk: not too big, not too small. Bigger would either sacrifice clarity, or your pocketbook. Is full 1080p for videos. Has all the connections, but comes with only a VGA cable. No speakers, which IMHO is a plus.

Nice monitor
Replaced Acer H233H display. Switched my HDMI cable from old monitor to new. Ran software setup. Done. This monitor has no speakers but has audio out jack. Having experienced the low quality sound from built in monitor speakers I can say this is a benefit rather than a drawback. Just be aware you need external speakers (or headphones) if you have been using built-ins. I use the new monitor with my computer and Xbox system using a signal sensing switch. Graphics software, games and Movies run nicely.

and in great shape. NO complaints about delivery
Monitor functions very well; it's a high (enough) quality Samsung product. Delivered on time, and in great shape. NO complaints about delivery. I have some concerns about how the actual screen adjusts; I thought this was a top-of-the-line model, with multiple fine-tuning options. It is not; there is only ONE way to adjust the "brightness" of the monitor, and that is by contrast. Every monitor, even used WalMart monitors have a contrast setting. You cannot adjust brightness, sharpness, game mode, or black level on this monitor. It's still worth 4 stars though.
