Travelon Anti-Theft Classic Medium Tour Bag

Great bag! I was so happy to find this model of anti theft bag! Most of the others on the market are purses in a style I would never carry but this one looks just like the field bag I normally travel with but with added security. It carries a lot and has pockets for organization. Lots of zippers - all of which can be locked. My one complaint is that the flap attaches to the body of the bag with velcro whereas an adjustable buckle would be much better. The only time I have actually been robbed while traveling was when the bag I had at the time was so full that the velcro would not close. This bag does have another zipped pocket so it is a matter of planning where to put everything. Despite all the mesh, cables and hardware, it is surprisingly light-weight. It enables me to keep my promise to my husband that I would never carry a purse that he would be embarrassed to hold for me.

I own almost the same Travelon bag now; I like this one better because the locks are easier to open and it is square (I had a hard time getting my guide books into the bag pocket I wanted to keep it in (outside pocket) because that bag opening was in the form of a "C" not straight across. It is so much easier and makes the pocket so much more functional when the opening is straight across. This bag is the best for out-of-the-country traveling. It could use a padded shoulder strap to cover the metal strap extender, but this is not a deal breaker. It's great that you can wear the bag across your chest, over your shoulder or carry it by the handle. It is loaded with inside pockets and zipped areas and is very secure and roomy. The water bottle slot should have been moved to the other side of the bag as it's placement now gets in the way of the pocket zipper above it and doesn't really work for a small plastic bottle of water; I'm sure you can find another purpose for this slot. Bottom line-this is the most security-conscious travel bag I have ever seen or owned.

The bag is a five-star bag, but only received three because the picture of the Midnight Blue bag is of the wrong bag. The Midnight bag is NOT the "Travelon Anti-Theft Classic Tour Bag Medium", Style #42472. It is Style #42224, the "Travelon Anti-Theft Classic Travel Bag", which has the rounded corners on the front exterior compartment. Amazon did not ship the Midnight bag as pictured, which is what I was expecting. I'll use this bag since there is no time to return and reorder what I wanted, and expect it will perform very well. There is ample room for all of the travel necessities. POST-TRAVEL UPDATE: I see the picture has been updated. The is a nice travel bag, but it is deeper than I wanted. It has excellent storage options with the many pockets and sections, and organization is easy. My mini-tablet fit well in the sleeve. The adjustable strap allows for the bag to be easily worn as a cross-body, a shoulder bag or around the waist as a hip pack. The side pocket was perfect for a small travel umbrella, but was too tight for anything but the slimmest of water bottles. The credit card slots in the RFID pocket were very tight, and I ended up not using those at all. My main issue with this bag is the 'hook-and-loop" (velcro)-secured front flap. The smaller compartments are behind that flap, so any time I needed a smaller item (cash, Metro tickets, phone) I'd have to rip through the large flap to access those things. After a few days, the ripping sound and fighting with that flap grew tiresome, especially when we were in locations where we needed to be quiet (churches, museums, etc.). The rough loops on the flap also snagged several pieces of clothing. Still give it 3 stars.

I am thrilled to report that this item was well received by myself as well as the travel companions of my Tour through Italy. It is perfect. the locks will keep anyone at bay, they are tricky, and require two hands, so there will be no pick pockets comng my way. To prepare for the trip I am wearing the bag a few days before hand, and it has been fine so far. The strap does not slip, it actually is quite comfy.... comes across the body, without any issues.... I wish they had it in a Camel color... but perhaps next time they will consider it. Lots of pockets to put things in, and for someone who loves to organize, this is a great asset. Also, a small light is included, which was a nice touch. The intertior compartment is large but will keep your netbook in place.... I was able to pack my IPAD, cell phone, camera, tissues, and a few extras along with my passport, credit cards, sunglasses and such ... really a great purchase, and peace of mind. All I hear about is the pick pockets in Rome and Naples... so I didnt want to deal with a belt that calls attention.... Hope this helps others Oh and I think someone mentioned that the velcro is tricky... they must hae revamped it, since the velcro is on the front panel in a triangle shape, keeping it away from your garments and holds the flap securely... plus there are other zippers with clever locks underneath. It is a perfect bag for those who want to travel without worrying.... Cheers!

GREAT travel bag ~ big enough yet small enough. Comfortable and adequate

WARNING: The bag pictured and in the description is not (apparently) the correct bag. I ordered this and the color was correct but the rest was quite different. The Travelon tag said it was the Classic Tour Bag Medium so I think the tag is right and the website is wrong. I returned the bag. It's a nice enough bag, just not what I needed. The bag that arrived has just one center sections instead of the two pictured. That section includes an area for a tablet which would be helpful if I owned a tablet. There is a small zippered pocket on the back. The front has a flap which covers a pocket for phone, credit cards, etc. There is a helpful rubber gasket to run headphone cables through from the phone pocket to the exterior of the bag which is very handy. There is also anther small exterior pocket on the flap (too bad they didn't make that pocket deeper, it is just the right width for a boarding pass but way too shallow for that). Inside the single main compartment, there were a few pockets, too. The side water bottle pocket was big enough to hold a reasonably-sized water bottle (a 20 oz Pepsi bottle just managed to fit in it although it wasn't easy, a regular 16 oz or smaller bottle should fit fine, depending on the bottle's shape, of course). I've now ordered the Travelon Anti-Theft Classic Travel Bag which has the same pictures and description as this "medium" version. I'm hoping the other one meets my expectations.

This is a really nice travel bag. The pocket linings are light-colored, and the lining fabric is silky feeling, which is nice on the hands when reaching in. The bag has a lot of pockets. The side pocket unzips to hold a standard 16 oz bottle (I tested it). Inside the main compartment is a padded section to hold a tablet. My iPad just fit in it (I tested it). This would be a nice bag if on a trip where one would be out and about the entire day, as it could hold a lot and could be worn crossbody for hands-free. I can't speak to its durability. As I was looking for an everyday bag it was a little large for my needs (I try to carry very little on a daily basis), so I ended up returning it. But if you have a long work commute by bus or train you might appreciate the many features of the bag (especially that it could hold your e-reader).

I love this little purse! I use it daily. I wear it cross body and don’t need much room for things. It fits my wallet and phone and some other things for daily use to go to work or shopping. I like the little clips to lock the zippers and two outside pockets as well as the phone spot that I can slip my phone into for quick access. This brand is much better than an expensive one one I bought at an expensive department store locally. That one lasted about a week before the stitching came apart in a couple places. Absolutely horrible especially for the price. I’ll stick with Travelon because it’s strong and made well. I can wipe it down easily if I need to. I just love that it’s lasted for a few years with daily use! The only DOWNSIDE is that I’m still able to open my car door with the fob inside the bag. It’s supposed to prevent that but mine doesn’t. I have a little wallet for my credit cards that I keep inside it and a case for my key fob that block them.
