we have often purchased by the case this best of the canned prepared soups of its kind, with plentiful pieces of beef in a rich well-seasoned beef stock, very flavorful and a very sound base to which to add a variety of additional vegetables, herbs, or seasonings as might be needed to satisfy the individual palate. the price is competitive with the most reasonable available at any physical retail outlet, and delivery has always been reliable.

It feels light, beefy, with right amount of water to "chew" content, and overall pleasant, for a can soup anyway. Sometimes, if I feel like I want to nibble, it fits the bill. I am sure its sodium content is not low, but it does not feel excessive. It is not spicy. And has quite low number of calories, imo. My home soups would have twice as many calories. It is probably worth the full price. Especially considering a free delivery, if you already have prime. But if I will catch it on sale, I will definitely "pull the trigger".

Good, but too salty.

Beef Barley soup is one of my favorites. Progresso is a great brand & I keep stock of different varieties.

I recently ordered a case of this for my fiancée who is currently in southern Texas, where for some reason Progresso soups are available, but not this particular flavor. She remembers it from way back and spoke about missing it a lot. At first I thought I could save some money by just picking up a bunch of cans at the local market and mailing them myself. But after checking the case price here on Amazon I decided to save myself a lot of trouble and packaging and send it to her directly. I don't know what the price for a can of this goes for in your neck of the woods, but around these parts it goes for more than what the single can case price costs here on Amazon. By adding a little something or other to the order I got free shipping making it an unbeatable deal. The case arrived within a week, my fiancée is deliciously happy, and I highly recommend this if you love this soup and can't find it where you are, or just love this soup and want it delivered by the case to you door... : )

I was already familiar with this specific brand and soup so I knew I could count on this being consistent regarding taste. Pricing beat even BOGO's at my local grocer and Sam's. Excellent to have on hand any time of the year. And, I loved that they were shipped to my door in a case flat - super easy for my mini-prepper-pantry!

For the price, I am not complaining. But if you are picky, choose better brand.
