I usually top it off with tap water and set it aside for about 15 minutes - seems to do the trick.

One needs to put warm to hot water so that there are no trapped air bubbles in the water. When there are no trapped air bubbles the ice cube or ice ball formed is absolutely clear.

Let it defrost a little, then pull with strength. You ll get used to it soon. Cheers

The warm water doesn’t really make a difference - in either case I believe you haven’t added enough water (topping it off is also fine - you’ll just get a nub to chip off when the ice expands.
