PRO TREKCASIO PRO Trek PRW-50Y-1AJF Radio Solar mens Watch (Japan Domestic Genuine Products)

The photo shows the Pro Trek PRW-50Y-1AJF alongside the G-Shock ‎AWG-M100-1ACR. From my perspective, the key common features are that they both auto-sync with atomic clock radio signals, assuring display of the "exact" current time, and both allow digital display of current time to the second (along with the analog time display). Also, both are reasonably compact (but not "small", except by comparison to other Casio models), with the AWG-M100 being just slightly thicker. There is a significant price difference, since the Pro Trek incorporates additional sensors (barometer/altimeter, compass, thermometer), features I could live without. But, I still prefer the Pro Trek, because it is easier to read, especially in the dark. (The red hour hand of the AWG-M100 can be difficult to see in the dark using the built-in light. The white hour hand of the Pro Trek helps in that regard. But, the Pro Trek also uses a blue/UV LED for illumination, rather than a white LED, so it better exploits the phosphorescent paint on the hands and hour markers with a mild fluorescence.)The Japanese-market product ships with a Japanese instruction sheet. But, an English language manual is readily available on the Casio website - the key search term is the movement number: 5620. (Just use a search engine with the terms: "Casio 5620 Operation Guide", and a Casio webpage with the PDF manual will probably be one of the top hits.)

Pros: perfect size for smaller wrists, hour and minute hands perfectly sized and not too wide, second hand not intrusively big, numbers nice and legible, comfortable wristband.2 big cons: Minute hand off by 1-2 minutes ahead and no way to manually adjust it. The hands line up properly at 12:00 when doing the check, but reverts back to the same 1-2 minutes ahead. Don’t be deceived by the images. The light only lights up the number “6” and the lcd screen. It’s not enough to light the entire face.Everyone touts the Japan movements in watches, so I expected it to be at the very least, precise. I have another Pro Trek that is correct and accurate.Also had to pay an additional 38.00 dollars for shipping.The only reason I’m keeping it is because I can live with the 1-2 minutes ahead. If it was behind I would have sent it back. For me, this would have been the perfect Pro Trek model based on the Pros.At the new listed price, it’s not worth it.

The first thing was nice - this watch came in three days from Japan to California :) Second - five yen was attached to the watch box for happiness :) The watch itself looks high quality. But the biggest surprise is what they can do. I was pleased with my purchase.P.S.: This watch is not as big as other sports watches.

The watch light, just the right size, easily readable, highly functional, and the band is very comfortable. If you're looking for a great ABC/EDC watch, this is the one. Also arrived super fast from Japan to Georgia in just 5 days with free shipping.

No paper instructions; needs better instructions for $400!!!!

Looks good, functions perfectly, but it is MUCH smaller than I thought it would be. And much smaller than other Protrek models. Also doesn't feel as robust. Nice watch, but WAY overpriced. If you're interested in a Protrek, do NOT choose this one. Little disappointed, frankly.

大きくともなく小さくもなく軽くなり見やすくとても満足してます。

文字盤がマットブラックで光に反射しにくく白文字で見易いです。サイズも大きすぎずも小さくもなく一瞬で時間の確認できます。残念なのはリュウズの塗装が直ぐに剥げてきた。それと梱包が甘く宅配で受け取った際に箱が横になってて開いてました。商品は無事だったが高価な物ですしもう少し丁寧な梱包を望みます。

登山用に購入しました。アラビヤ数字の画面は見やすく、レトロなデザインを気に入っています。大きさ、重さも手頃で普段使いも問題ありません。

安っぽい。いかにも安っぽい。同じプロトレックの上位機種と比較すると一目瞭然。（特にデザインが）実用性はあるのでしょうが、タフソーラーも余り余裕がなさそうで、上位機種ならＨが常燈なのに、未だＭの状態。かなりのコストダウンをしています。結果としていくつかの妥協を見いださないといけなかったのでしょう。それでもそれなりの値段はします。同じような時計ばかり作りすぎた気がします。一番致命的なのはライト。暗いところで役に立ちません。＜追伸＞プロトレックは仕事でスマートウォッチが使えない時以外使わなくなりました。現在は、安いスマートウォッチでも健康管理から気圧、方位まで測定できます。（９軸センサーなど普通です。）２０２１年現在、カシオの決算は好調のようですが、私の中でカシオ製品を選択する理由がなくなりました。なんで売れるんだろう？性能的には１０年以上前の物と何も変わっていません。そこがいいのかな？昨今のスマートウォッチは一週間は楽に電池持ちします。プロトレックはサバイバルの時しか用途が無いかな？電卓もスマホ、電子辞書などとっくに使用しなくなっています。丈夫で長持ち＝日本製の良い所ではありますが、、欠点でもあります。製品だけでなくヘルスケアなどもサービスもセットが当たり前の時代です。競合他社が良い製品を安く供給しています。カメラメーカーと同じ道を辿るような気がします。ニコンがZ9を出してきた事の意味が理解できる人には分かると思います。（メカニカルシャッターを廃止しました。＝背水の陣です。）

シンプルで見やすく思っていた商品でした。
