TL;DR -> Buy it lol The first thing I noticed about these lamps when I received them (I purchased 4) was the ground wire / screw that comes in the outdoor junction box. That simple thoughtful detail set the right tone from the beginning. Then there is the WEIGHT of the lamp ... it's HEAVY ... in a good way. Feels VERY durable, like it could withstand serious abuse. Then there was the added little packaging around the glass ... not a big deal ... but it's something and that thoughtfulness counts (IMHO). Now ... I have NOT installed them yet ... because it will take me some time to figure out the best way to mount them ... so there could be other issues I have not encountered ... so forgive me if those are not mentioned in this review (I simply have not had a chance to encounter them). The ONE CAVEAT, is the that you will need to mount these with the little ears on a diagonal (OR you need to drill through the back of the junction box which may defeat the point for many outdoor applications). So keep that in mind, as that MAY effect your specific application. In closing, I would consider using these lamps for ANY lamp that needed to be able to withstand harsh conditions ... not just moisture. So if you are looking for a jelly jar / utility lamp, an outdoor lamp, or just a really DURABLE lamp, this is probably going to be the best deal in terms of PRICE, QUALITY, and DURABILITY you are going to find!

RE: Lithonia Lighting VW150I M12 Wall Mount Utility Vapor Lights, not Tights, Incandescent, 150 Watts, Grey color. Bought this pair for our family's VR Villa ... about 80 yards from the beach (I mention this fact not for the Tropical aesthetics's, but for more practical utility reason's) Yesterday, I install both vapor lights in 1 hour, and that was with many UN-scheduled interruptions by OP! They do have a nice weight to them, mostly due to the Glass protective covers. The ONLY Hiccup in assembly was attempting to screw back in the protective Glass Cover (not plastic), I had to try numerous times on the 1st one before it "seated" correctly, and used a Sharpie on the 2nd one, to mark it. The other thing to mention is to Not Pre-attach the Cage that attaches to the cover, as it will make it easier to SCREW the Bottom 2 screws which are obstructed by the Glass cover; But, I happen to have some Long, thin Phillip screwdrivers that worked nicely, and you will need a Regular, Medium-sized head Phillips, for the cage cover. They look really Cool and gives our family's VR beach Villa a really nice finish! About mentioning the 80 yards from the beach - the ocean's Salt-water vapor corrodes All Metal's, some more quickly than others, depending on the Type & Quality of the metal. Bronze & Copper do oxidize at different stages, but at least, it can be renewed if it's high-quality ... on-the-other-hand, anything iron, or, steel, or, stainless steel ... start Rusting and Corroding on day one. Follow-up in 6 month's - will update, if any major change happens. If they hold up to the nearby Pacific Ocean, then I will buy more. 5 Stars For EZ Install, Thickness & Value! .

Installed on the outside of a well house to turn on with the well pump. It’s an old school method of maintaining awareness of pump run time. When you have reliability and you add physical protection from kids at play plus an appealing esthetic, what more could you ask for?

perfect replacement for our dock outboard lights, totally matches what was originally installed. Jury is out on that 5th star until I know it doesn’t allow water in, the previous ones did and froze (breaking glass).

I installed this light (actually two of them) on a metal building to light my entry doorway. It is a solid fixture with rubber seals between the light fixture itself and the mounting box and also between the glass globe and the metal enclosure. It should be completely weatherproof and insect proof as well. Installation was easy, and I am very pleased with its appearance and the quality of light. It should last for many, many years. It is a perfect porch light.

Seems very sturdy. I like metal frame around glass.
