Does this hold up in the summer heat ?

It did for me last summer, but it doesn’t get super hot (>90-95F) or humid where I live.

I would describe it as a gel that gets pushed through small wholes at the top as you turn a wheel on the bottom. You do have some control over the amount of gel, but only as you are turning the wheel. Everything above the holes gets applied.

why are these double the price of my pharmacy down the street?

It says unscented, but i read on mine, in the ingredients list on the back, that is contains fragrance (parfum). what is going on?

I'm not sure. Mine (received some time last year) doesn't contain any fragrance or parfum. Perhaps someone packed the wrong thing (wrong item) or the company labeled it incorrectly? If it says unscented sometimes companies add a masking fragrance. It sounds like you're looking for fragrance free (it's tricky! there's a difference sometimes). I double checked mine and it's the same as pictured in this listing including same UPC code. Perhaps your best bet is to call 1-800-258 DIAL and speak to them.
