Simple. Light. Fast.
Final decision for me was based on form factor of a dial instead of buttons, free of battery trays or solar panels or irreplaceable batteries. I went with the gold reticle, and I really do like it a lot. The glass is good, and the blueish hue common to red dots is less, it seems. The reticle dot is cleaner than a Aimpoint Comp ML2, FWIW. No issue with weapon light wash out, but I run mine on a low setting, 300 advertised lumens. If you are close enough to anything to wash out the reticle, you don't really need the reticle. Price was close to Holosun SCRS. Even less with red. Dial setting. Low drag. Looks cool. Fast shipping.

Not shake awake! GREAT a product but the ad is incorrect!!!
Not shake awake! Holosun makes an excellent product and this is an excellent optic. I did return it based on the fact that I wanted shake awake on my defensive firearm. MY MISTAKE. I should have verified through the Holosun website. Amazon has yet to fix the title for this ad. Just want everyone to be where that this is not a shake awake dot.

Good, but could be better
I appreciate the alternate height mount for cowitness with some iron sights, but the multi-reticle selection is spotty and the brightness selection switch is a little finicky. Love the gold dot though

It’s worth it.
Little bit of a glare in unnatural lighting at certain angles indoors only. Outside, haven’t been able to repeat the glare. I don’t mind, it isn’t obstructing my view. When it comes to my eyes, I never knew I needed this circle dot this badly. It’s great paired with a sig Juliet 5 magnifier!

Holosun, always good products
I am running one of these holosun's on an HK53 A3 and love the set up because it allows me to co-witness my HK diopter hard sights. Bought this one for an other HK53, and need to get one more for an HK33. Really good set up to allow for co-witness on the HK roller block 5.56 platform.

One star for incorrect listing - No Shake Awake
There is nothing to dislike about the HE503R-GD except for the lack of Shake Awake unlike the listings title. The description is incorrect. Shake Awake is not listed on the Holosun website for this model, it isn't listed in the owners manual that was in the sealed package, and I left it on for 24 hours to confirm that it does NOT have the feature. If the listing was correct, I would give this 5 Stars. The gold circle/dot is amazing, and crisp, with plenty of adjustments for any lighting setting. Normally I wouldn't blame Holosun for a critical listing error, but apparently I bought this from the "Holosun Store" on Amazon, so they get 1 Star.

Still unknown so 3 stars for now.. If it holds up it's definitely a 5 star.
I like my new Holosun with a few caveats. I had never seen a micro red dot in person so it shocked me a little bit when I seen how small the unit and the objective actually was. But after getting it on the gun and practicing a little bit I like it a lot. I could have saved some money and got the 400 model with just the dot as it seems more useful. I don't see myself using the circle dot very often. Also, if your looking for a Holosun skip the rotary unit. I like it because it looks like a T2 but the dial is stiff and small and there is no shake awake technology in the rotary models. I don't have solar on mine so I cannot comment on that. Even with the push button model I might skip the solar just to eliminate another electrical and expose item that could fail. Another issue I had which may not be an issue is that my dot disappeared temporarily.. I then put it on circle dot and was able to see the reticle but I then watched it fade out. I took the battery out and put it back in making sure to tighten the battery cap with a little bit more torque and so far so good. I hope that was the issue and this will not happen again. Good Glass, good looks, good price compared to some of the other red dots.
