Comprensive, clear, great value. Buy it!
This is a fantastic book! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to do custom, DIY window treatments. Its comprehensive and covers every type of window covering (except the track types they now have at IKEA). Its an old publication, but the instructions are very clear, easy to understand, complete. I feel like heavy drapes and cornices and such are maybe a bit old fashioned these days, but you can get such cute modern fabrics on sale at Joanne's for 50% off and pair them with instructions from this book. I've already used it for a set of duponi silk rod pocket drapes and plan to do much, much more. This is great quality publishing, editing, writing and is a book I will use over and over. Buy it!

My "Go To" book for making my own professional looking Window Treatments
This book has become one of my all time favorites for sewing home window treatments. I actually had an earlier version of this book that didn't provide detailed instructions and was very disappointed with it. When I previewed the Kindle version of this edition I was impressed with the improvements and downloaded the book. The instructions are detailed and easy to understand. It provides great tips for the types of fabrics that work well on each treatment, how to properly measure your windows and make your patterns, and it provides a multitude of variations on common window treatments. I had no problem figuring out the fabric yardage or supplies I needed for all of my projects. The book also provides pictures and illustrations for sewing instructions. With this book, I no longer have to go online or to the fabric store to search for a pattern or spend hours scanning blogs for answers to questions.

Inspirational
This book is full of nice pictures which will help choose the right drapes for my room. Has some directions, but they are certainly not step-by-step so don't but it if that's what you want. I'm a beginning sewer and I think I'll be able to figure it out. But I'm looking for a simpler look. If you're looking for something more complicated, you might prefer a book with more directions

Good Book, Good Ideas
I am very pleased with this book, the examples, instructions, pictures, et al. The only thing that is a bummer for me is that I have very large banks of windows in my home and all of the window treatments are for smaller windows. The book gives instructions for figuring your fabric/materials for any sized window, but I was hoping to be able to "see" some examples of things for the larger windows. In all, I would recommend.

For windows
A great book to start with if you have no knowledge of curtains and windows and dimesions. So good in fact my father loves it.He used to work in interior design. This book is mainly photographs with a bit of illustration.
