Great machine, all the negatives are preventable issues
There is nothing wrong with this machine IMO. I live in an area with hard water and I've only had to descale for performance once in 5 years. I do it every 3 to 4 month as a precaution, but it works fine even if I dont. The carafe pouring issue isnt an issue to me. Just pour slower or over the sink. I dont mean slow just slower. I drink a lot of coffee and its held up just fine. Clean it as needed and it will keep on brewing like new. The only drawback is the buttons being in the top and not the front, it sits at the back of the counter under the cabinets, a front interface would be better, but thats about the only drawback I suggest using their cleaning solution as it works much better than vinegar and water, the amount of stuff that comes out is quute a bit more with their solution. All in all this is the best dual brew machine I've used. Easy to maintain and very dependable.

Basic but good machine. UPDATED
My wife and I had been looking for a multi-purpose machine, one which makes both a carafe and a pod of coffee. I had seen this and after some investigation, we bought it. Observations: This is a basic machine which does not have a lot of features. I've read a number of reviews complaining the carafe spout design allows a few drops of beverage to spot the countertop. All one has to do is slow down when pouring. The wide spout is conducive to pouring quickly. Me, myself, I pour my coffee over the sink so any drips or drops go in it. Alternatively, a dish towel could be placed on the counter and poured over it. Keurig uses a 5 ounce cup measure for the carafe side. The carafe is 12 cups. 12x5=60, which is the exact reservoir size. READ the directions! This machine is easy to use and does exactly what it says it will do. To expect it to do X when it isn't designed to do, it is unreasonable to expect that performance. If you need a different set of features, find the brewer which has them. Don't buy it and then gripe it doesn't do something it was never designed or equipped to do. Pros: The machine does exactly what it says it will do, day in and day out. It has a 2 hour auto shut-off for the carafe side and a 2-3 minute shut off on the pod size. Easy and intuitive to use. It is simple to maintain. I descale it as needed with the Keurig solution. I descale about every 3 months. Depending on your water, you may have to descale more often, or less depending on your use. You can brew a carafe and use the pod side while the warming plate of the carafe is on. Haven't tried to brew both sides at once. It can be programmed to auto-brew at any given time, however, you must set the auto-brew function each brew cycle. This prevents the machine from automatically brewing a pre-programmed setting when the reservoir is nearly empty or empty. This is simply a safety measure. Cons: The directions which came with my machine says none of the parts are dishwasher safe. I would think for the money, a simple change of plastics composition would be in order without raising the price. The carafe glass stains easily, though it is easy to clean. The glass feels flimsy but I haven't dropped it. It doesn't come with the gold mesh filter, though it can be ordered or purchased at the grocery store. UPDATE: I've regularly descaled the machine with vinegar. Today however, I could not get the descale cycle completed, that is, without some frustration. I'd run out of vinegar and had (fortunately) 2 bottles of the Keurig descaler solution. I used the first bottle and was shocked at the amount of scale it removed. After completing the Duo instructions for descaling, I encountered 2 problems. First, the descale warning light would not go away. The second and most frustrating, is that in the carafe rinse, I would not get the full amount of required water to dispense. Instead of 12 cups, it gave me 8. I thought it was my mistake and I refilled the reservoir and tried it again, making sure I selected the 12 cup carafe amount. This time I got 2 and in the last attempt I got perhaps a few ounces. The pump made a whining, thudding noise. Spending a few minutes on Google told me the issue with no water was either the pump was out or debris in the line. I ran the second bottle of Keurig descale solution and let it sit for about 30 minutes. I then repeated the rinse instructions and this time I got the full amount of dispensed water. The descale lights did not turn off as expected. I learned there is a manual reset sequence which solves it. With the power "ON" press and hold the 8 cup and 10 cup selection buttons for about 5 seconds. Mine turned off immediately.

Beware of full pot function
I've had this machine for almost a year and a half and kind of forgot to write a review but have also had a chance to really use it to be able to write one. I wish I could give this 5 stars, and really I should give it 3 but it is a good machine. I love the one cup side of this machine, it works really well and has many options. I like that I can make different cup sizes and the fact that I can make it strong if I want to. I also love the water holder on the back, it makes it easy to make multiple cups in a day without having to refill constantly. I also like the ability the have options by using different flavors of k-cups. Now onto the bad, I'm on my 3rd machine and im thankful I signed up for the warranty!! After making my 3rd or 4th pot of coffee using the full pot option, the machine stopped working. It filled up to about the 4 cup line and just died. There were no lights on the screen. We tried plugging it into a different outlet, checked outer breakers, etc and it wouldnt work. I contacted the company and they sent a new one, I didn't have to return the broken one which I thought was great customer service. The second one came and the water tank was broken, it wouldnt hold water as the plunger or whatever you call it was missing. No big deal, i wasn't going to call them again, I just swapped out the tanks with my broken tank. Well again after using the full pot option a few times the same thing happened with the new machine and I had to call customer service again. The customer service was great again and they shipped me a new one without having to return the broken one. My third one has been doing great but I refuse to use the full pot option because I don't want to have to go through that again. While my 3y warranty is still in place, I just don't want the hassle. I hope this helps someone make an informed decision before buying

I like it BUT...
I really like this coffee maker. The convenience of pot or k-cup is great. I would definitely buy this again, BUT..... The things that need improvement. 1) The display being on the top is not preferred. It should be on the front where it is easily seen by everyone. My wife is just a little over 5' and it can be tough for her to see the display. 2) As several other reviewers noted; the pot "leaks or drips" when pouring. I couldn't figure this out at first, as it didn't do it every time I poured a cup of coffee. But, after some investigation, I discovered that there is a plastic "dam" under the lid that has a hole in it to let coffee pour through the spout. That's fine, but If you tip the pot too much that coffee goes over the top of the "dam" it will then leak around the lid and drip. The solution is that when the pot is more than half full, you must not tip it to the point that coffee runs over the dam and drips. Kureg shoud redesign this portion of the pot so that there is a much larger "dam" under the lit to prevent this. I realize that if the "dam" is too high it would interfere with the brew drip hole in the lid, however, it could be much higher without interfering. 3) It's great that there is only one reservoir for both the pot and k-cup BUT its only big enough for one pot of coffee. So, if you're like me, I set up the machine the night before to brew a full pot, the problem is that if you decide to have a k-cup or two after the pot timer is set up, there won't be enough water left in the reservoir to make a full pot. So, I must often re-fill the reservoir before going to bed. Kureg shoud have made the reservoir at least 50% larger to allow for making k-cups while still allowing enough water to remain for brewing a full pot. 4) I realize that Kureg placed the reservoir at the back to keep the overall footprint of the machine compact but this requires pulling the machine out from under the overhead cabinets in order to remove the reservoir or fill it with water. I suppose that if you could place it in a spot where there were no overhead cabinets, it wouldn't be that much of an inconvenience, but my guess is that 90% or more of customers will place this in a spot that requires the entire machine be moved in order to access the reservoir. 5) Programing the pot brew isn't really that intuitive, it takes a few times doing it before it becomes second nature. I think that Kureg could have made a better user interface for the settings features. OVERALL, I'm happy with this purchase.

HORRIBLE MACHINE
According to Keurig, their customer service informed me that they are aware of problems with this machine. The carafe leaks repeatedly every single time you pour a cup of coffee. It runs all over the counter then onto the floor. They have replaced the carafe for me several times but the result is the same. Now just a few months into purchasing this machine, it has quit working entirely. Tried to make a pot of coffee, and the machine cuts itself off with less than 1/2 cup brewed. The element shuts off too. They have replaced the machine but now into 2 days of this replacement, the carafe is leaking all over the place and the machine is cutting itself off again. I would not recommend this product. The only up-side is that they keep replacing it because they are aware of the problem. I see other reviews saying the same thing. Don't buy this unless you really like the UPS Store because you'll be there often returning this product as well as returning all the replacement parts.........Save your money. 05/24/24 UPDATE. I am now on my 3rd Keurig replacement coffeemaker. They have replaced the carafe now 6 times. The Keurig rep told me "...it's not uncommon to replace the carafe 6-7-8 times..." They are fully aware of the defective products. Customer Service has been great to replace the broken parts, but you shouldn't have to replace a coffeemaker every 45 days. The machine is a great concept but they really need to review it's function. Each time, I have requested to return the defective parts but they don't want it back. I want them to see/use the product to fully understand what they are selling. 08/01/2024 UPDATE I am now on my 4th replacement Keurig coffeemaker. This has been a complete nightmare!!! They are FULLY aware this product has numerous issues. The last representative told me that 'THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN LABELED DEFECTIVE'. They still sell them. The carafe leaks like crazy, you pour a cup and it will literally spill all over the counter and down to the floor so you must make certain that you carry the pot to the sink and pour your cup there. The machine itself works about 60 days then it just simply shuts itself off. You'll get about a 1/2 cup of coffee made and then the machine stops and will not make any more. I like the concept of the machine in that it has one water reservoir that connects to the one-serve or the carafe and that is a really nice feature that I have enjoyed. However, that is about the only thing that you will like about this machine. They are aware, COMPLETELY aware that this product does not function properly. I have asked repeatedly to send these machines back so they can see for themselves how defective it is but they do not want the machines returned. Again, they are FULLY aware that these machines malfunction. The customer service insisted that this new machine "has been tested" and should work. I am not holding my breath. With all the problems that I have had, I wish I went to Walmart and bought a $20 machine off the shelf instead of dealing with this mess.

Choice of flavor with an extra pod after you made a pot! Awesome idea.
I love my Keurig! A pot or a pod it’s perfect. Especially if someone wants a different flavor.

Duo brewer was genius!
This product was literally a genius idea, Keurig! The possibility of brewing either a single cup or a whole pot with only one machine is like a gift from the heavens for me! I typically only have one cup of coffee on weekday mornings, but on the weekends I'll drink multiple cups in a day, so it's wonderful to have both options in one machine, instead of having to configure two separate machines in my hardly non-existent counter space. I currently own 2 other Keurig models - the Keurig K15 Coffee Maker which I keep on my desk at work and use EVERY morning, and the Keurig K-Classic Coffee Maker which I received as a gift and keep at my home on the counter. I LOVE my K15 and have had it for 8 years (purchased for my dorm room in 2011), and it is still functioning perfectly. For the K15, it's a single serve type so you turn it on, pour in your desired amount of water, put your coffee pod in, and hit BREW.. and that's literally it. You're free to do whatever while the machine heats the water and then your coffee pours out when it's done (typically less than a 5 minute process from start to finish) - I never knew that was such a big deal to me until I got the K-Classic version (which has the water reservoir on the left side). For the K-Classic, you have to turn it on, then the machine heats the water (which takes wayyyy longer than I wish it did, I don't leave the machine turned on when not in use so it has to heat up and get prepped every time I use it which generally takes 5-10 minutes just to get to the point where I can start the brew) and once the water is heated THEN you put in your coffee pod, pick your desired size, and then the coffee brews and pours out. I literally hardly use my K-Classic because you have to turn it on and then come BACK to it to even start it - with the addition of that extra step along with the wait time it adds, it just doesn't fit into my lifestyle very well (there isn't a morning where I'm NOT rushing around multitasking while getting ready and ultimately leaving late for work - every minute is precious!). When I saw a review of this K-Duo™ Single Serve & Carafe Coffee Maker on youtube (thanks @jelly007) I literally bought it immediately. It fits my needs PERFECTLY, because it has a water reservoir like the K-Classic which is hugely convenient, but the water heating functions the same as the K15 did, where you turn the machine on and select what you want, pop your pod in, and you can go do whatever you need to do while it heats the water then brews, then come back when it's ready (which, seriously Y'ALL, it takes 2 minutes from start to finish to make a single serve cup). I gave my K-Classic to my parents because this point about the timing of when the water heats literally sells the machine for me, along with the specific availability to do either a single serve cup or a whole pot (carafe) with ONE machine - it's the coffee maker of my dreams and I wouldn't change a thing about it!
