There s a new marque of darkness coming out of the amplifiers of Impending Doom. Three guitarists contribute to the density of sound that fills your head like an inky black menace when first you hear this band. This is a band comprised of musicians who manipulate the genre of death metal like a butcher wields his cleaver. Bending vocal sounds to his whim, Brook Reeves takes the listener on a downward spiral into the depths of the band s convictions where one may be surprised to find a shining light of unbelievable brilliance. The juxtaposition of guttural bellowing and slaughterhouse wailing isn t the only thing that catapults Impending Doom above the rest of the death metal bands. The fact that Impending Doom refuse to toe the line with their spiritual convictions in a genre long known for it s demonic inclinations is paramount to the band s impending notability...and your impending doom.

Heavy As Christian Gets!!!
This is the second Impending Doom album I bought, though I'd heard songs from it on myspace and such, I still was stunned by this album, it is amazing. Very heavy, and very strong Chritian message. If you like grind, or death metal, I suggest check this out.

Extremely Sick
Such a sick album, some songs are kind of repetitive, but they're still amazing. The breakdowns are too insane, just brutal. This is REAL deathcore. I dont even know if I would consider it deathcore actually, its more grind/brutal death metal. Nevertheless, this album destroys bands like Suicide Silence, Chelsea Grin, etc.

Better Options Are Available
The beat and rythym are constant, with no variety, changes or anything throughout every song. The vocals are subpar to say the least; growling, while carrying a distinctive sound... should also be able to have some pitch. To sum it up... if you want constant and repeating sounds across one cd... then this is the cd for you. However, if you want a bit of variety within the tracks of a cd, "better options are available."i.e.Soul EmbracedThe Devil Wears PradaVirgin BlackSuicide SilenceJob For A Cowboyetc.

Nailed. Dead. Risen. Fantastic.
I am not a grindcore fan at all.But this album blows me away. The singer uses pig squeals often. But the tone of his voice is just so great. I can't help but be impressed. And thier guitar work is more creative and technical than regular sloppy grind guitar. And they have breakdowns. But not just your any old, come-by-chance, everyday breakdowns. These breakdown make you want to throw down no matter where you are.Suggested songs are "Condemned", "Feeding The Decomposing" and "Nailed. Dead. Risen."For fan's of "The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza", "Acacia Strain", "For Today" and "Jesus Christ"

Excellent stuff
I ran onto tis by chance while browsing cds in a local store. It looked interesting so I researched it a little and like what I heard. I've recently been getting into a lot of hardcore and grindcore/death stuff and I like my music with positive meaningful lyrics. This was just what the Dr ordered. The guitards are well produced but still good and dirty and the overall sound is quite heavy. Nice timing switchups through out and not your typical riffs. Lots of speed with some breakdowns thrown in for good measure. I personally love the vocals. Very difficult to understand without following a lyric sheet but well worth the effort to follow along. Powerful Christ centered lyrics that delare "We are the sons of a liveing Majesty!" with guts and pride. If your into dark sounding heavy music with just the right amount of chaos thrown in but prefer something more, lyrically, in regards to intelligent meaningful ideas that stand for something worth standing for, pick this up!

decent concept,wrong approach!
I had no idea what I was getting when I bought this cd. By the cover art, name of band and the title I figured this was typical somewhat satanic, all about death destruction and unholy chaos you find in most death metal. This is death metal but this group goes the other way with it. I never thought I would hear or see a Christian death metal group. The content of the lyrics is not satanic but paints a dark reality of the world and the people in it and what is to come. Inpending Doom a very catchy title considering what the content is about. The doom is not to the believers but to the evil in the world. The only hope is God. I know this sounds weird considering we are talking about death metal known for satanic incantations and unholy doomsdays but like I said this band goes the other way. Most reviews critcize the vocals and they are right the vocals get rather annoying on here. The music and sound are good which make this a decent buy if nothing else.

Nailed Dead Risen
after reading a few reviews off amazon i had to make my own review because i feel like all the other reviews are not going to top mine because i feel like people don't understand what impending doom is really about the whole band believes in god so you can't go wrong there and i have meet the band more than once and honestly this to me is more than death metal it's everybody's way to god you have to read the lyrics if your against god why are you wasting your time because your not getting nothing out of this cd unless you love god

a very pummeling album to date
Impending Doom is awesome. where was this band when I started listening to death metal?? how can I describe the sound? they sound like a meeting between Krisiun and Morbid Angel and the two bands became Christian. this band is the most brutal band I laid my ears on? can Christian metal get any more brutal? the intro song "Left Behind" only prepares you for an unprecedented onslaught. this band SHOULD be in your collection.
