Best sauce!
I buy this every time Iโm close to running out! Best pizza sauce around. My Walmart quit selling the sauce.

Love The Taste
This may be my comfort food. Growing up in the 60-70s we bought the box pizza that comes with the dough/sauce and so this sauce has always been my favorite. It is hard to find in the stores sometimesso found this 12 cans on here and decided to always have some on hand. Just really love the taste of this sauce and the memories it brings back.

This sauce is a family tradition!
We have been married for over 50 years and since our 2nd year of marriage we have had a tradition that is now a HUGE family tradition that all started with the boxed Chef Boyardee pizza mixes. My husband starts making the pizzas about 10 pm on New Years Eve and they all come out of the oven just before midnight. After we celebrate at midnight everyone comes in and has pizza and the tradition is we are now all eating "Year Old Pizza". Now many in the group make the crusts from fresh milled grains but the sauce just cannot change so to find it sold stand alone was just fantastic! Nothing like tradition!

Classic Sauce
I remember making pizzas back in the 60โs with my sisters. We would get the pizza kit that came with everything you needed to make a pie from scratch. Still using the sauce to this day but using fresh dough and mozzarella cheese (that grated cheese they give you just doesnโt cut it). It really is delicious.

Great , but a little high priced. Cheaper at other places.
Best pizza sauce there is. But cheaper at another store.

Nice taste!
This has great taste, but is water thin. My brother and I used to make Chef Boyardee Pizza from the box when younger. I just cannot seem to find pizza sauce in the stores that make pizza taste like pizza. Although very thin this does make pizza taste like pizza at least from the time when I was young.

Just like the pizza sauce that came in the "CHEESE" box kits 40 years ago we remembered so fondly
40 years ago, Chef Boyardee pizza kit in a box was the first pizza anyone in my family had ever had. Hubby and I were both latchkey kids, and one of the things we always loved was when our parents would buy us the Chef-Boyardee pizza kits in the boxes to make our lunches or dinners with. We were talking about how much we loved the sauce, and I thought it would be a neat surprise to be able to make pizza like that again for him. Now, I can make great pizza these days, and can certainly make my own sauce, usually just using crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and garlic, which is WAY more healthy than this, but it was that old taste I was after. This is it. It's like the long thin cans that used to be in the kits. Did anyone else stick their finger in to get the left over sauce on the sides? I used a wet pizza dough, stiffened up a bit with some flour kneaded in- see Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day: The Discovery That Revolutionizes Home Baking , stretched it out square on a cooking pan I'd sprayed, and topped it liberally with this sauce, pepperoni if you want it , lots of parmesan cheese (NO MOZZARELLA to get the OLD taste). I cooked it at 425 on the TOP rack (usually I'd cook pizza hotter and lower, but it was the OLD taste of being 13 and not knowing better I was after...) It came out a PERFECT reproduction- it was exactly like our preteen pizzas at a fraction of the cost, and I like to think using fresh dough and good quality cheese without preservatives bumps the health factor up a notch or two from the original boxed kits. One can makes 2 big saucy pizzas.
