Instantly Trapped Fruit Flies - I had GREAT success using this product!!!
Soooo, I came home from a week traveling and found fruit flies hanging around some dishes I didn't clean before leaving town (I know gross right?!?). I was disgusted and researched home DIY solutions as well as researched Amazon and settled on this item because it was cheap and was eligible for one day shipping. I received them early the next day and immediately put them in place and no joke they started trapping flies instantly. Be careful when opening the bait/juice packs because they are VERY full and I spilled some after trying to cut open the edge like a ketchup packet. I ended up cutting off the entire top with scissors and dumping the liquid bait in the trap which was easy to do. The bait seemed like basic apple cider vinegar yet seemed to have something added to it to make it extra potent smelling because it was strong but in a good way and it wasn't hard on my nostrils at all. The bait must have had something slippery added to it too because the flies didn't come out once they went in, this would be similar to how DIY traps suggested adding dish soap to apple cider vinegar. OH I ALMOST FORGOT, I did 3 DIY traps at the same time using small dishes that I poured in red wine and covered them with saran wrap and a rubber band to hold the Saran Wrap on and then I poked small holes in it. I did 3 of them of different sizes and added dish soap in one to see what worked best and they did catch a couple flies after leaving them on the counter overnight but they were no match at all for this real trap. The DIY traps caught maybe 5 total between all 3 traps and this real trap caught 15-20 instantly and solved the problem where the DIY traps would not have solved the problem 100% by themselves. Considering the low cost, purpose built design, and high performance I would definitely recommend these traps to anyone. They did such a good job I didn't even have to use all of the bait so I am prepared if I ever have this happen again since these traps are reusable and I have 2 of the 4 bait packets remaining. Great buy, don't hesitate or waste time trying DIY traps just get these and be done with the problem!!

FLIES CAN COME OUT THE SAME WAY THEY COME IN.
Does not work, the fruit flies are simply not attracted to the bait that comes with this. SAW NO FLIES INTERACT WITH THIS BAIT AT ALL. Put some fruit in one of them and sat and watched 2 flies interact with the trap. The first fly that was sitting on the top bobbing in and out of the holes. The second fly was happily scurrying around on the fruit then when it had it's fill climbed around the little pegs until it found its way out. UTTERLY USELESS! I have tried everything and so far the only thing that lured them in was a piece of banana, didn't do any good though because again they either don't go in or they just come right back out. Figured I would save some money by using a reusable trap...now I have 2 useless traps and still have a fruit fly problem.

These absolutely work!!
These work!!! I literally never write reviews, but I feel I have to post my first one for this product. For any of you out there debating which trap would be the best for fruit flies, this is it. We had an ungodly amount of fruit flies in our house for almost a month and did the most suggested home remedies (apple cider vinegar, funnel trap, bleach solution for the drains/garbage disposal, cleaning everything top to bottom) with no success. They were getting so out of hand and I felt disgusting that they weren't going away. After reading reviews for the various options, I decided to try these (since the price was right and there were a couple reviewers that sounded adamant that these were the solution). In less than one week of putting these out, ALL of the fruit flies were gone.To give you a visual (I meant to take a picture before I disposed all the flies that the traps caught) there were over 100 flies in each trap - we had one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom by the sinks. I couldn't believe it. And I know a couple people mentioned that the liquid that these come with smells like just apple cider vinegar, but I had my own apple cider vinegar trap right next to this one and mine caught TWO flies after being out for 2 weeks. These caught HUNDREDS in a couple days!! I'm convinced they have a special chemical (which I know some people would care more about) but it works!!!Long story short, these truly work. Give them a whirl and I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm honestly shocked at the negative reviews because of my successful experience. I will be buying these again if the flies ever come back, but we haven't had one since we've gotten these. Happy customer! :) :) :)

Very effective and not an ugly sore thumb sticking out!
Very nice little traps, with one major flaw. There are extremely narrow slits running between the holes, and I watched in astonishment as fruit fly after fruit fly wiggled through one and flew away. Argh! But it was an easy enough fix for someone like me who keeps Duct Tape in bulk. :PI cut narrow strips of tape and covered the slits, voila, no more escapees! They work really well and I knew my room had become suddenly infested with them, but holy cow! Dozens and dozens of trapped annoyances, very happy. But they just don't seem capable of keeping up with the reproductive rates, so I'm supplementing with fly strips. One other downside is the design; I've spilled one more than once trying to pick it up and the bottom just falling free before I learned to lift them with extreme care. A light threading to screw the top down would go a long way to making this easier to handle.
