I'm not into metrics, but what is the width of the tracks?

The width of the track is ~11/16". The outside width of the assembled vehicle is ~4"

Yes, 5 round and 1 hex axle (3 7/8 inch long)

How to connect the tracks? Do regular glues work?

I just connected them together without glue (small pins into small holes). They should stay: if they come apart maybe tracks are too tight, there's a fine line between too tight and too loose: too tight tracks com apart, too loose tracks come off of wheels. I experimented until I got the right tension, so far so good.

IMHO this track set is a good buy. I've used it on several projects and it works well. if you use the Tamiya frame and two motor set it has a relatively low ground clearance (about 1 inch) but will work well on smooth surfaces. If you want you can fabricate your own frame and get a higher ground clearance.
