I love this brand of toys, they make very durable, good quality items. Coupled with the numerical awareness that this item is ment to provide, the different stacks of color also allow your little ones to quickly develop the ability to identify different colors. Everything about this item is beautiful and well made... definitely worth the price.

Bought this for the four year old to practice her basic math skills... her older brothers were familiar with it, so they've been helping her use it to practice addition and subtraction. Now, even the two year old wants to play with it. Seems very sturdy. The kiddos really like the colors, too. And, the center wooden pieces can be reoriented so that they are numbered or blank, to fit your kiddo's skill level. Great little math implement!

I got this for my 2 year old, knowing it was more advanced and something he’d grow into. He loves his giant bead maze, so I figured this would be a great way to introduce counting. I looked at the toys that have removable beads for counting, but I just KNOW he’ll lose those!! The regular straight abacuses look more simple, but I figured this would help with adding and subtracting someday! He loves counting the beads as he pushes them around the arch. Also great for teaching colors and working on numbers/colors vocabulary. As with all other Melissa & Doug toys, this is built really well and is a nice compact size. Very space saving compared to other abacuses. Highly recommend this for all ages! Hope this helps. 😉

Our 4yr old is in preschool part time, so we figured we would order a few things to help us at home to continue prepping him for real school! This has been such a fun tool to use! It's built well, the colors are nice and vibrant, easy to use & we believe because of that, he's picking up on basic math skills easily! Would recommend this to friends & family! Melissa & Doug has never let us down!

Great gift for kids learning to count.

This is a nice product and main sturdy however the boards slide out easily or fall out easily in the middle. I would like to have had these stationary and I would like to have had them say 12345678 910 and show those colors with numbers above the beads so I could use them for toddlers to count from one to 10 with coordinating beads. This one does not I wished it would have an option for the board to do that. Please make something like that if you can.

My 2 year old has started counting and this has been helpful with practicing. He gravitated to an abacus at daycare, so knew he would enjoy sliding the beads and the sound. I also appreciate that it has addition and subtraction aids on the side so he can use this further as he learns in the future.

I purchased this almost a year ago now for my child and it has been played with almost every single day. (the photo is from today, you can see some toddler wear and tear on it, but not much!) My child loves this toy. I'd recommend it to anyone. It's good for fine motor skills, colors, and math if old enough. My child is almost 2 and just loves to play with the beads.

The color is bright and attractive for kids. It’s good for pre-school learning. My daughter can count now by playing this abacus. In the future, I will teach my daughter do the math by using this definitely.
