I installed this weatherproof outlet cover on the wall in the backyard. You don’t have to worry about rain getting the outlet wet, and it also looks great.

Figuring out how to install this was easy. I have never done anything... constructively or install things, but I figured this out and it has protected my outlet so I must have done something right (I was also replacing one so I didnt have to find the hole to drill). I know this because the seal is good and my outlets haven't tripped since, and there have been pretty bad rain storms. I debated giving this 4 stars due to the trouble of removing the cover to change the direction. It was really hard to take off the hinges to change from vertical to horizontal, so much so I even broke a fingernail doing it. But that goes to show how sturdy it is, it is strong and that is something you would want in something that is outdoors. So five stars it is.

I purchased this weatherproof cover for an outdoor GFCI outlet that was repeatedly tripping because it was exposed to the elements. Installation was straightforward and the cover fit the outlet well. Once installed, it provided the additional protection I was looking for and has helped prevent the outdoor outlet from being directly exposed to rain and moisture. The clear cover is also convenient because I can see the outlet without having to completely remove the cover. My only disappointment is that the silicone sealant needed to properly seal the cover to a brick surface is not included. If you’re installing this on brick like I did, be prepared to purchase the appropriate exterior-grade silicone separately. I would have preferred for that to be included with the mounting hardware so the installation could be completed in one purchase. Overall, the cover itself feels well made, installation was easy, and it solved the issue I was having with my outdoor GFCI outlet. Just be aware that additional sealant may be necessary depending on the surface you’re mounting it to.

This is much needed for my front porch outlet. The cover has been ripped off exposing the entire outlet to the weather and rain. My outlet is the traditional bi outlet, and this package has the plate for that. Installation was simple. I had to remove the 3 existing screws and put in the new cover using the new screws that come with the package. There were 6 screws: 3 short and 3 long, which is great since the middle of my outlet does not need the long screw. The cover door is a little tough to snap in but once it is snapped in, it is quite secured. You can freely open and close without worrying that it might snapped off. I had a bit of trouble snipping off the tabs for the power cord knockout. The instruction says you can just snap it off but that's not possible. I had to use a plier and twist it a few times to remove it. The tear is not very clean as they are not perforated. I'm happy to get most of it as I don't want to expose the outlet when it is plugged in for an extended period of time like over the holidays for outdoor lighting. I still give it a 5 star for look, price, quality and versatility.

Keeps rain away from outdoor outlets. Simple to install and compatible with standard 120v outlet. Size is good for larger plugs and wire, and hardware to install was included and complete. The outlet cover closes tight and somewhat hard to open and shut.

We have achieved our weatherproofing goal. Easy fit standard single gang cover with selectable molded switch/outlet plates. The installation is easy and very straight forward. No additional components are needed. This will cover one standard single gang outlet box.

The Intermatic WP3100C weatherproof outlet cover is okay, but not as sturdy as I expected. The plastic feels pretty flimsy and bends easily during installation, which made it harder to get a snug fit. It also doesn’t snap closed as securely as I’d like, so I’m not totally confident in how well it will hold up long-term outdoors. On the positive side, it does come with all the standard screws and accessories you need, which makes installation straightforward. The wire path for cords exiting the cover is also designed decently and accommodates cables without too much hassle. Overall, it works, but the build quality could definitely be better. I’d consider other options if you want something more solid.

Fit and looks great

The weatherproof cover was easy to install and does the job. It feels sturdy. We live in a climate with heavy snow and rain, so we added a silicone sealant around it for extra protection, just in case.

Quick install, has kept water out over a windy, snowy winter.

Great product and was easy to install if you know what you’re doing already. There was a lack of instructions but if you know what you’re doing you’ll be fine. Other then that it’s great and the weather seal is perfect.
