Marji, you shouldn't be ordering links by hook size but by the length of the back. If all the links are the same size on the back then the hooks will be the same size. These are not collars than an amateur should be using without professional instruction. Unless schooled how to properly correct, fit, and size these collars I would stay away from them. Also, as a rule of thumb, buy a smaller, lighter collar than you think you need and add more links to make it longer to fit.

How do I get rubber tips for my 2.55cm prong collar?

you do not need rubber tips.  The prongs are set correctly to replicate the mother dogs teeth as she corrects her young.  Make sure you have the correct size for the type of fur your dog has.  i.e. if your dog has a lot of long fur you need a longer mm, for a shorter fur dog you need a lesser size mm of prong.  These Herm Sprenger prong collars are really the best and will last the life of your dog.  We have used them exclusively for two different dogs and appreciate the quality of them.
