Awesome book for young girls
Awesome book for young girls. Teaches them how to deal with real life issues in families and what real friendships are supposed to look like. My daughter can't put the book down. She's very excited to read entire series.

Great read
this book rivals those out there but is quite specific to build self esteem and affirmation for young girls of color. I think it is a good read with a good message.

Looking forward to book two
Review by Gretchen HoffmanAfter the suicide of her oldest brother, Yasmin Peace's life is anything but peaceful. Her father's in jail, her brothers York and Yancy stir up trouble in and out of school, and her mom struggles to support them and be a good mother. All this has Yasmin wondering where God is in all this. When Yasmin begins praying, she sees how things change. Life is still difficult and full of challenges, but God always provides--good friends, an uplifting mentor--and with Him by her side, she can face whatever life throws.I enjoyed reading about Yasmin and delving into the details of her life. She has a lot of spunk and attitude, and it was great to see how she deals with friends, petty girls, and finding God in the midst of tragedy. The book was a little too preachy at points, but overall, I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to book two and seeing what Yasmin will encounter next.
