The good news is it does all my old remote does, but not much more. A clock and a flashlight are the extras. No batteries came with this remote, even though the ad photos shows them, and there is ample room inside the iron vise sealed plastic sales case. No biggie, but I feel a little cheated.This remote also does NOT have a backlight even though the ad photo and packaging highlight that it does. This IS a big deal for me (I'd have bought a different brand if I knew this upfront!). The code for my older Haier HWR08XC7 window unit is evidently 011, but for some reason that code displays no onscreen info other than a tiny clock and code number (like I need to see the code at a quick glance!?). No temperature or any other info that most of the other codes display!? Again, I feel cheated!So, it does the 4 functions my old remote did (on/off, temp up/down, fan speed, mode change), plus a flashlight (instead of a backlight), and a tiny clock, that you can't see in a normal den lighting because NO BACKLIGHT! I don't understand why I can't see the temperature, or maybe an indicator of what mode or fan speed I have set!?I say this is basically a 2 Star product, mainly because of the lack of backlight (or batteries) and a virtually useless LCD screen. If it were half this price I'd give it 3 Stars, but I'd still feel cheated, misled, and lied to - just at a better price! I'll probably keep it because the temp down button on the AC unit itself doesn't work, so you NEED to use the remote, and I rarely use the window unit, and have misplaced the remote in the past, and then you're sunk!

Worked with our older haier window unit. The temp control button had broken and any attempt to lower the temp just moved it up. I had to keep resetting it (hold temp down button in while you turn the unit on).This remote took just a few a seconds to link with my unit, and works perfectly.

I needed a replacement for my old A/C this one works great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the setup didn't work for me as simple as the instructions say. It took me a little bit and had to play around with the remote to finally program it. Other than that it gets the job done.

It worked! I had quite a time of it ordering a "new but repackaged" AC. Alas, the folks in the warehouse sent me an AC with an entirely unrelated remote and paperwork. (To say nothing of the missing mounting kit, but we're not talking about that right now). In any case, it works perfectly with my Haier AC unit, which is lovely since the brand name remote would have been $30. After so much challenge, having it just work was a welcome experience.

I brought this product sometime ago when the original A/C remote stopped working. I decided to repurchase the same make and model. No problems.

I was about to throw a window a/c unit out until I came across this magnificent creation! Paired easily to the unit and filled my house with cold goodness. And at night it has a flashlight built in. Kinda handy to have as well

Once I finally got it to pair with my unit (a process that took two days), I found not one single button controlled the function it was supposed to...if it controlled any at all. DO NOT BUY!

Worked perfectly! Bets replacing an AIR conditioner with no controls on the unit!
