I'm giving 5 stars because I dont think my one complaint is really a big deal. I think this is a great product. The quality is really good. It reinforces number, shape, and color learning in addition to practicing lacing. My daughter loves the caterpillar. My only complaint is that there is no end piece or anything to stop the beads from coming off the other end when lacing them. Like I said, not a huge deal. We get creative and just lace the other end back through some of the beads and it holds up very well. Overall I'm very pleased and my daughter enjoys it. She's 18mths now and I think we've had it for maybe 2 months already.

My 2 year old likes this but I’m waiting until she’s older to let her play with it. She likes putting everything in her mouth and she can actually fit the entire pieces in her mouth. I wish they were just a little bigger and the string wasn’t quite as long. It’s a good motor skills toy but I wouldn’t have it listed as 2 and up

My Grandson starting lacing at 6 months; able to do a few by himself by 9 months, by himself at 12. This is a fine motor skill many kids aren't getting early enough. Would recommend for anyone trying to encourage learning.

Well made toy, however, it didn't hold my grandson's interest very long or frequently.

Bought for my 20 month old grandson and he loves it! He will bring it to me to play along. He loves threading the pieces onto the string and saying the colors or shapes. We are working on the numbers. I do wish there was a stopper on one end so he could wiggle it around on the floor once all the pieces are threaded on, but the safety latch in the center is a great idea. The “flower” piece can be turned to make ratcheting sounds and the caterpillar makes squeaking noises but he’s not strong enough so I have to pinch it to make it squeak.
