Songbird Valley Magical Storybook Cottage Birdhouse 9.75x9x12.5â€

Loved this pretty birdhouse purchased in 2020. Started coming apart after one year and completely came apart and became a waterlogged throwaway this year(2022). Also, as in a previous review, the door was too large and had to be modified. I still loved it when modified but am extremely disappointed in it’s durability.

I build and design miniature houses, and was going to build my own birdhouse. But, I saw this and thought it was reallt nice for the price, so I ordered it. Received it yesterday and am bowled over by the quality for the price. I couldn't build it myself at this cost.The design is really cute and authentic. The material is good quality—way better than dollhouse kits I have had. The paint is evenly applied and nice colors. Decorations seem durable. To reviewers who complained of shedding, these are natural dried plant materials and will shed. Get over it. I sprayed the whole thing down with an aerosol clear coat since I'm lazy and don't want to let the weather degrade the paint quickly, as weather will do to paint.If you're looking for a birdhouse that's attractive, lightweight, and has the added advantage of a cleanout door on the back, buy this one. It would be a lovely gift for someone, too. A+++ on value for cost.

This is a great product for the price. It's much better than I anticipated even after reading the positive reviews on it. Like some other reviewers, I intended to use it as a fairy house in my back yard. It is definitely roomy inside for birds or fairies or gnomes :) The windows in the bottom are open so you can see inside the house and whatever is inside can see out. It's well constructed and very attractive. An amazing bargain. My only concern is how it's going to hold up during our rainy season this winter. I'm going to put a protective coating on the wood part of the structure. The roof looks beautiful in the straw covering and I don't know what I can do to protect that part. But, worse case scenario is that I'd have to replace it with something else and I"d still have a great looking little house in my yard.

I had thought I would mount this on a pole at the gate to replace a cute birdhouse I purchased from Marshall Field's about 15 years ago (that is still in good shape and is used twice yearly by a sparrow or wren family - which ever claims it first). This house arrived already having "flakes" of the roof "thatch" and decorations coming off. It was very well packaged, seems to be put together fairly securely, but is NOT going to survive the coming rains or the season without warping and having the glued on "thatch" come off. From the picture, I assumed the front door was a "decoy" and the actual bird "door" was located on the back. However, the huge dark door shape on the front is actually the entrance! This is too confined to be used as a feeder, too open to be used as a bird house. It makes a decoration that is a bit difficult to "place" due to its size and the platform bottom. I will not return it, because I paid for postage to get it here and will have to pay to return it, so will pay the USPO about the price of the "house." Very disappointing for my intention. Just a rather "cheap" looking ornament for (hopefully) a season.

Incredibly cute but not strong enough to hold up to the elements as an actual birdhouse, so we will just put it out on our deck as a decorative item.August update... even though we put the bird house out as a decorative item on a shelf on our deck, a house wren decided that the birdhouse was the perfect spot to build a nest. Even though the birdhouse was only a few feet away from where we would sit on the deck, she would just fly up and feed the babies while we were sitting there. The babies flew off this morning. So I stand corrected, it is the perfect birdhouse. :-)

This is a super cute fancy bird house! I gave it to my mom as a gift and she didn't even want to put it outside. The top of the house is kind of a fake moss/loose wood material so I could see if getting destroyed after it is outside in some rain but it is so cute! My only complaint is the first one I received came in a destroyed box which allowed the house itself to get damaged. amazon returned it no charge and sent me a new one.

Nice bird house for Mother's Day gift. When it arrived, a couple of the small wooden pieces were broken or coming loose. I repaired these pieces with wood glue. Some of the thatch was also loose on the edges but was no problem to glue either. This bird house will be hung as a decorative piece on a screen porch out of the elements thus weather should not be a problem. Not sure how well it would hold up if placed outside.

It's really cute w lots of attention to detail, like little flower boxes and a real opening behind the door....two birds came to see yesterday. My DH glued little stones on the chimney which improved it a lot....looked kind of cheesy otherwise. I'd buy it again.

Handcrafted perfectly, and pretty spacious! It’s bigger then I thought it would be, the details are awesome! Present for avid bird lover. He loves it
