Great wooden model!
The kit came as expected - as per description. Had to go out & purchase some paints & supplies but that is expected from this type of project. Happy with the quality of the wood pieces and very happy that I don't have to sew the sails- came completed.

Great Winter project
The Bluenose is great for the first time wood ship modeler. Looks great, and instructions are excellent. Took me 7 months to complete and got a good education. Be prepared to spend more than the cost of the model for tools and materials. Buy the Tamiya hand drill from Japan, and be prepared, as it's a plastic kit you have to assemble. It's small and very slow speed. You really need it and a #13 crochet hook to pull lines through the blocks. Use the drill to enlarge the holes in the blocks a tiny bit larger to use crochet hook. Now finishing my second model and have two more, each with greater difficulty. Strongly suggest you spend a lot of time on YouTube watching seasoned ship builders.March 2021: Finished the Virginia and San Juan from this same manufacturer. Starting on Mayflower and then the Bounty. The instructions on the other ships were poor and had it not been for books and videos on YouTube, as well as trial & error, I probably would have given up. I have the confidence and patience to tackle any model.

So far most things are in good order; however, the basswood plates that line the hull were too short for the first couple of courses. I had to piece the plates. Not a good start to a nice project.

Water automobiles?
I could never find out what "water automobiles' meant in the title. Does anyone yet know?

Not a good experience
Product looks ok and I think it's all there. However I can't be sure as there were no plans in the kit and it looked like it has previously been opened. I have reached out twice now for assistance as of yet nothing.
