Not natural anise tea
Description is misleading. The tea contains black tea as well. How can it be ‘Antidote for Insomnia’ as the ad claims?

Authentic natural tea from Sri Lanka...
Included in this pack of Lifetone Star Anise Tea from Sri Lanka were twenty 2 gram sachets of powdered Star Anise mixed with Ceylon Black Tea. The pack I received, manufactured on 19/2/2021, had an expiry date of 19/1/2022. The company is ISO certified.Simply put a sachet into hot water for 30-45 seconds, squeeze out the sachet and stir the drink. This particular blend is said to help boost the immune system and to help the digestion as well as aiding sleep - plus it contains a range of vitamins and minerals. I can't say it sent me to sleep - but then I'm a proud night owl and nothing much does. For me, pleasant to drink - though aniseed can be rather a divisive ingredient. Both the depth of flavour as well as the on-pack information suggests an authentic, natural tea that's well priced - and well worth a try.

Relatively inexpensive premium spice tea
I’ve swung like a pendulum from being a tea to coffee drinker, but since the detox fashion boost to infusions of all kinds I’ve found that I quite enjoy spicy aniseed-y tea in the evening. The 100% natural star anise tea from lifetone is a more concentrated take on the tea blends I’ve been drinking that have involved fennel. For a less battered palate the pure star anise flavour might catch at the throat a bit, but as a late-life convert to extremely strong black coffee I don’t mind that depth of flavour from a tea.The product description led me to expect something a bit more thoroughly eco-groovy and I was mildly disappointed that the card sleeve package turned out to have a builder’s tea style foil bag inside. But that could be my sample rather than the actual product. It doesn’t detract from the tea, though. The cost, £4.99 for 20 bags at time of review, is higher than supermarket own-brand stuff which is never as good, but highly competitive for premium tea.

Strong and delicious star-anise spice tea!
This is a very rich and strong anise tea by Lifetone, which is perfect for before bed to help you wind down, sleep deeper and faster. I found that one tea bag is all you need to fill a whole thermos of this tea. In fact, having a teabag per a cup would be a bit of a waste. This is because of just how flavoursome the tea is. It is naturally quite sweet and has a dreamy lovely spice to accompany it. Well packaged and good value considering the quality.Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! :)

Delicious and relaxing.
I love anise, it started as a kid with anise seed balls, they don’t taste as good as they used to now though. This tea is gorgeous, lovely warming relaxing tase of anise, as well as being relaxing I find it good for my respiratory system, I have a lung condition, and this seems to help me breathe easier. I just pop a tea bag in a cup, fill with boiling water and let steep for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, I leave the tea bag in while drinking Price is really good; I would get this again.

Disappointed
Doesn’t taste or smells like star anise. It tastes and smells like fennel seeds. I like how fennel seeds tastes but I didn’t like it as a tea. It is just too much.
