I love this guitalele! It's beautiful, well made, and plays very well. I tuned it a 4th up from standard guitar tuning (A-D-G-C-E-A) so it's like playing a regular guitar with a capo on the 5th fret. That means you can play standard guitar chord forms, but they will be higher. So if you play a G chord form, you are actually playing the chord C. This thing is awesome. A great way to get a ukulele sound while playing guitar chord forms. (I do also play ukulele, but i dont play as well or knkw as many chords, so this is a great alternative. ) I plugged it into my Fishman acoustic amp, and the pickup works GREAT! Just a note: when the built in tuner is on, the pickup output is muted. I was quite impressed. The accessories that came with it are good. The strap is great and well sized. It came with an extra set of strings. Note that the strings for this are basically classical guitar strings, and they are labeled with the standard guitar tuning (E-A-D-G-B-E).

So this was an anniversary present and I really wasn’t sure what to expect. However, receiving it and playing it for a bit, I’m very pleased. I’ve been playing guitar for almost 20 years and this thing is a great change of pace for me. I already own several acoustics (Taylor orchestra body, 000 guitar, a mandolin, a baritone acoustic, and bass guitar, and some electrics, so to add this to my arsenal of sound is awesome! FEATURES: - I love the design and craftsmanship, only gave it 4 stars because the binding looks like a sticker. Other than that, it’s incredible. - Love the sound hole design with the fish. - built-in tuner is also true bypass, meaning that when you’re plugged in, it will mute your signal when you click the tuner on. - included strap, gig bag, strings, and bag of goodies is great. - open gear tuners seem better than some full size Grover guitar tuners that come standard on most beginner guitars. Holds tune well. - fret board is nice and easy to play. MY THOUGHTS: - great sounding little instrument unplugged and plugged in. (Especially for the price) - value is worth every penny especially because I’m a full time musician. - This would make a great travel guitar. - this would work well for beginners and people who are already experienced but just want a different sound for their arsenal (I recommend a baritone acoustic or banjitar as well!) - fret board is easy to play and intonation seems really good (especially since I’ve had my other guitars professionally set up) - I tuned the guitar up 2 steps cause it was a little buzzy and that took it all away. My tuning is F# B E A C# F# - construction seems very good and not what I expected out of such a cheap instrument package! See video for sound clips! Great buy! Instrument projects sound through holes. A little muted ,but nice frequency response across the six strings. Course there is also a pickup for an amplifier. Warming up with a smaller instruments creates inspiration and ideas to be checked out on my full size guitar. Really nice concept here. I give it four stars with respect to my more expensive and full size growlers.

Beautiful, and sounds great. Comfortable size like my ukes. I have 4 Caramel ukes and really like the value of their products.

My hands are on the smaller side, and even the fret board action on the Taylor baby guitar (their smallest guitar) is still a bit of a strain for my left hand. In contrast, the action on this guitar is the best I’ve ever experienced. (I don’t perform, singing with a guitar has always been my creative outlet - however from my perspective, it would be a satisfactory travel back-up performance guitar in a pinch.) I specifically bought this guitar because of the positive reviews about how well it tunes, which I can also confirm, right out of the box.) Also love the bonus features like the integrated electric tuner and the fact that it’s an electric acoustic - it sounds great with the portable Honey Tone amplifier (also reasonably priced) I purchased for it, it complements the guitar perfectly. It’s even better than my old Martin Backpack guitar (which never quite sounded like a guitar, and did not have the great action of this guitar), which I passed on to my kid. This guitar exceeds my expectations, great quality for the price. Thank you!!

I keep this guitar at work. Great for practice, great sound, easy to play. I wish it came with a hard case but the gig bag is great. Came with a strap, replacement strings, a pick, and other goodies. I couldn’t ask for more for the price and it looks great.

I enjoy this baritone so much that I ordered it's cousin from the same manufacturer. Beautiful instrument. feels slightly larger in body but may be me however it produces a beautiful tone quality. Very easy to play. My bar cording on this is wonderful compared to others I have had also intonation at 12th fret is pretty spot on.

This is a nice guitarlele, but does have a few small finish flaws patched with white wood paste and then color matched quite poorly. The color rubs off. I call it guitarlele because it can be tuned in standard E to E tuning. It's like a baby classical guitar. Low E is slightly flabby, but not bad at all. This one was already opened by someone. They did a good job repacking it, but left out the book/manual which bothers me quite a bit. Also, it came with half dead batteries and no extra ones! The tab was pulled out that keep the inserted batteries fresh. It also needed a truss rod adjustment to get rid of a severe low E buzz. This guitarlele should have been sold as an open box unit at a discount! I don't like paying for something brand spanking new, and it's not!!! The guitarlele itself came through shipping fine, but the factory box was crushed. A big disappointment for me, as I like to keep original boxes for possible resale at some point in the future. Summary: The good stuff: Plays easy with 2X glove size hands. Responsive fret board. Very nice tone and sustain. Nice quality gig bag. Comes with a nice strap, 3 picks, extra strings (generic), a trussrod allen wrench and an amp cord. The not so good stuff: Someone already opened the package, played around with it and removed the battery preservation tab. The Caramel logo is a decal that is ever so slightly angled and off center by 1mm or 2mm. It is not inlaid. The manual with the chord chart and extra batteries are missing!!! The factory box is crushed! Although the wood is nice, grain coloring is not as nice as most pictured. This one has a monotone look. Not much color variation at all. Some may be okay with that. I prefer some life in my wood! As mentioned above, there are some small patches made with white wood paste and not concealed very well. I would recommend this instrument if they can send you a NEW UNOPENED one. I might just be the odd one out, the unlucky one. If not for my "not so good stuff" complaints, I would have given it 5 stars across the board, but I must say again that I am HIGHLY disappointed that I didn't receive a FACTORY NEW unit, but paid the full price!

This instrument has a beautiful tone for something so small, wonderful resonance. Plus it's a pretty instrument too. Lots of sound with the pickup, and great to have an on-board tuner. It took a while to get here, but very happy with it overall.

It's hard to find anything wrong with this little guitar. I'm not a beginner. I write songs and play a guitar for 20 years and from my point of view that instrument is incredible. Basically, you get a smaller size classical guitar here. The size makes a difference, that pretty little thing is incredibly light, very handy and easy to travel with. Surprisingly, the smaller size does not affect sound as much as one would expect. That instrument is almost as loud as a regular size classical guitar. Playing it takes some getting used to as the distance between frets is shorter. If you have smaller hands you will be happy, because it's actually easier to hit chords than with a full size guitar. If you have large paws however, well, you might not like it as much as I do. About the sound: much depends on the way you tune it. With a regular E-E tunning and original strings, the sound of CB904G is very close to a regular guitar. The strings are a bit loose though, but still playable. They do not buzz, but you can tell it's all too soft. When you tune it F#-F# or G-G, however, it hits the sweet spot and things change. Strings are in perfect tension and the sound is stronger. Also, top two strings start to sound like something between a guitar and ukulele, sort of "woody" sound. Oh, and it spices things up nicely. F# or G is the way to tune Caramel CB904G. After a while I changed my strings to Hannabach 653059 for 1/8 guitar. They do sound better when tuned to E than the originals, as the tension is correct. However the three lower strings, E A and D, sound a bit shy. I have a feeling than there is an even better choice: Hannabach strings for 1/4 guitar (for a longer guitar), tuned to G. That's what I'm going to do, it should be just perfect for guitarlele. About the electric part and recording your songs through XLR cable: it is way better than I expected. It's not easy to record nylon strings and make it sound good, but in this case it works really well, for some reason. The recording is clear, full and sounds nicer than my electro-acoustic full size Takamine EG-260 with metal strings. Another surprise: Caramel CB904G sounds different when you play it in different styles. Strumming and fingerpicking style sound good. Fingerpicking (especially when tuned to F#) is sweet and mellow. However when you hit all the strings in a fast and energetic way, it suddenly sounds strong and impressive. The slight ukulele note gives it even more taste. It's hard to believe that such small instrument can produce such strong sounds. There are also few things to be aware of. The wood is really dry. If you're worried about it, try some guitar oil. The intonation is NOT perfect. If you tune E string perfectly, and press it on 12-th fret and play, you will not get a perfect E, it will be slightly higher. The variation is not much, it is acceptable and you can't really hear it. So not much of a problem, but you should be aware of it as there is no easy way to fix it. Adjusting truss rod is a good idea, as mine was way too loose. But it does not help with intonation. Also, you'll probably need to learn how to make stop knots on your strings. Oh, and for some reason I got only one CR-2032 battery in the box (two are required). I'm not sure I was even supposed to get the one I got, so I don't really care. All those problems are minor. But the good sides of that instrument are huge. It sounds good, it looks good, it feels good, it plays good. So if you want a small size guitar that sounds really well, if you want to record it too, I don't see a better choice. If you don't mind tuning it two or three notes higher than a regular guitar, it will be get amazing. All those high marks and good reviews are well deserved. I believe the Caramel company created an affordable masterpiece here.

I got this lovely guitalele after having the Yamaha and the difference is pronounced. This is a little bigger than a standard baritone uke and the sound is lovely, warm and resonant. I tune this guitalele G to G as that seems to be its sweet spot. E to E like standard guitar tuning is too flabby and A to A which is the normal tuning for a guitalele is too "tight" and dulls the top string markedly. So G to G seems just right. I will be buying the Aquila red guitalele strings when I restring because they hold E to E really well without the flab. This instrument is just fun to play. It lends itself really well to the Elizabethan sound but equally you can finger pick some folk or country styles and it sounds great. Plugged in it opens up even more musical doors especially if you have effects pedals. Add some reverb and delay and you're flying. As for the build itself, there are no sharp frets, obviously the neck is quite wide but not too wide. The tuning heads could be a bit better but they're not bad. The nut is fine no squeaks and pings when you're tuning up. The neck is nice and silky and finish on the body feels smooth. The fret board could probably do with a little linseed oil to bring it life a little more. I've been having a ball playing this. It's always about and you can just pick up and play anywhere. It will help no end with your practice.

This was purchased for my Mother's 73rd birthday. We had bought this instrument in 2021 and she just loved it and wanted another for a backup. She originally was playing a ukulele so just want to move up a bit as we Jam together every Friday night and I play guitar.

I really like this mini guitar. Decent quality. It’s better than the comparably priced beaver creek one that I bought at L&M’s. Tuned E-E
