I have bought so many of these, give one to all my friends who have lost a pet,a touching memento

This book was given to me when I lost a dear dog in 2017. I treasure it still and I have since given it to others.

Recently we had to put one of our dogs to sleep. It was extremely difficult for our family, and we weren't sure how to explain death to our 3 year old. I tried to just tell him our dog had to go to the Doggy Doctor because something was wrong with his head, and wouldn't be able to come home again. He's a very smart little boy and has asked tons of questions, which I wasn't sure how to answer because sometimes children can take a concept and change it around in their brains and project it onto something totally different. I read through many reviews for books dealing with a pets death that would be good for a little one, and choose For Every Dog an Angel. While it's a fantastic book for little ones, it's a little advanced for a 3 year old. I think if a child was 5+ years old it would be perfect.Although the book wasn't a perfect fit for our little boy, I'm not taking any stars off because it truly is a great book to help children with the passing of their family dog. I also found it to be a fantastic story, due to its ability to fit any family, because it allows you to make it as religious or non-religious as you'd like, in regards to what an Angel means to your family. If you need help explaining death (and make it less painful) to a little one, this would be a great pick!

This is such a sweet book. It’s definitely a tear-jerker, but crying is such an important part of grief. I share this with all of my friends when they lose their dogs. There’s not much you can do in those situations, but I feel that sending this book is a kind gesture to let them know that you’re thinking of them.

When I has to put my dog down I bought this book. It made me cry as it was a touching letting go book.

I purchased this book for my nephews (ages 6 & 4) they recently lost their beloved dog. She would sleep in their room and follow them around in the backyard while they played. She was kinda like a third "sibling" if you will. THe boys took it extremely hard when Fifers died. So, after looking through the endless lists of books - I found "For Every Dog an Angel". (There are other books out there but, for two little boys they wanted something simple. They wanted to make sure their Fifers was taken care of. This book did it. Here is my favorite passages : "A dog can never really be separated from its forever person. Neither time nor space can ever come between them. So when the dog comes to the end of its earthly life and must go on ahead without its person beside them, the guardian angel becomes a loving bridge that connects the two friends for as long as the person remains on earth." and the one the boys loved the most: "So don't be surprised to see your new dog racing through the house as if it's playing with an invisible friend... it probably is."

We received this book from one of our vets after our beloved dog Titus passed away in late Sept 2014. The vet staff wrote personal messages in the book and personalized it for Titus. The book and personal messages enormously helped us during our initial profound grief and continue to help us today. Just yesterday we gave the book - personalized with our messages - to a neighbor's family whose dog Luna passed away last week. The family's 4 year old was delighted to finally see Luna's wings.The book's cover and illustrations may appear to make it a children's book, but it is not. For Every Dog An Angel has meaning for people of all ages.And one last thing: the dog chases with the Angel Dog described in the book really do happen. And with great glee from the participating dogs.

Good stand by grief abating book for dog lovers.

We were bought this book last year when we lost our dearly loved dog Poppy, and it brought us such comfort. I then purchased it for my sister-in-law following the loss of their dog Chloe. For anyone who has lost a dearly loved dog, this book will help during the grieving process.

Good book, Great pictures.

It was bought for me when my beloved dog died and it was such a comfort to read it that i bought my friend one when she lost her great dane. It will make you cry but it will help to ease the pain..
