Nutricost BCAA Powder 2:1:1 (Unflavored) 60 Servings, Vegetarian, GMO-Free

A trainer told me about BCAA's after years of regular exercising and I was skeptical but tried it. I was amazed at how night and day the difference was with my muscle soreness was and at how much it aided my gains right away. I've tried brands that try to mix a bunch of other junk with it, but really it's just not necessary and doesn't improve the effectiveness. The 2:1:1 ratio specifically works the best from what I've tried and I've found the simple powder is the best for mixing into simple preworkout shake of caffeine and beta beta alanine mix. Not the greatest taste but easy enough to chug down in water or a little flavoring. Keep in mind that timing of when you consume it is absolutely key to it's effectiveness -- Before or during workouts, but not after. There are a lot of junk workout supplements out there that don't do anything, but this is one of the only ones I'd say is absolutely crucial for helping muscles recover for weight lifting or resistance training, you won't regret trying it.

If you have a weak stomach, unflavored is not for you. If you want to recover better after an intense workout, avoid a lot of sugar, and do it for a price that can't be beat, you need to buy this. I used to workout without supplements. I did a lot of different things: cycling, weight training, running, HIIT, boxing--really, anything intense, hard, or painful to keep in shape. After a while I started incorporating supplements to get better results and push my gains. Protein shakes, creatine, caffeine, and finally BCAA's. Each of those added a little more relief or better prep for my workouts. None of them made me feel as ready for my next workout as BCAA's though. Really, this stuff is gross. It smells bad, it tastes bad, and it doesn't mix super well. But at this point, I'm not working out without it. My recovery time has gotten so much better; the intensity is getting better; I feel like I have more energy before, during and after; and I just can't stress how much better my muscles feel the day after a workout now. The price is good, the packaging is simple, the product is fantastic. No nonsense supplement for no nonsense workouts.

I've used a number of Nutricost products and always been happy. This BCAA powder is no exception. It's instantized, so it dissolves pretty well, even in colder water. I use about 10 grams in my intra-workout drink (I drink it while training) when I'm cutting. I think it helps prevent excessive post workout soreness, particularly when I'm in a caloric deficit. BCAAs are supposed to help muscle retention when dieting and still training hard. I use it when I lift or if I do cardio, especially fasted cardio in the morning, although I've admittedly not don't much of that. Overall, this is a great product for the price. You can get flavored BCAA powder if the taste bothers you as well, although I just mix this plain powder with calorie free water flavor and it masks the taste pretty well. BCAAs can be a bit on the bitter side, so keep that in mind if you're ordering the unflavored version. Otherwise, Nutricost has some flavors available as well

I made a huge mistake in thinking the unflavored would be like creatine where it would be tasteless. Wrong. This is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever tasted. I added it to my smoothie, and it completely ruined it. I’m glad I just got the 30 servings one. It’s like torture trying to chug this thing down. I saw a review on here that said if you let it sit for five minutes, it taste better. It does kind of taste less horrible, but the taste is still really bad. It’s also very chalky and not easily dissolvable. As for muscle recovery I think it’s really good and does what it’s supposed to do. I also think I’m seeing a little bit more muscle mass. I used to take capsules but didn’t want to be taking so many different supplements that I’m already taking. So decided to try a powder form.I also didn’t want to get anything flavored but I think I may have to next time because I’m definitely not getting the unflavored again.

This product states it's flavorless however it taste like old moldy water. No mater what I add it to it makes it taste so bad I gag and i am by no means a person who gets grossed out easily. It smells like it taste. I even tried adding it to pure pineapple juice hoping the pineapple would over power the taste and smell but I was wrong made my pineapple juice taste like it was rotten. Everything I added it to it over powers and it's almost unbearable 💔 😢. I was really disappointed with this products quality, flavor and smell. I used it for a few days and just couldn't take it so I requested a refund. Thats my honest review. Beware this flavor and smell profile will make you wretch.

This product does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I ran out of my previous version of BCAA’s and I assumed they’re probably not that necessary. I always wonder if I wasting money on unnecessary supplements. I assumed that I didn’t get sore after workouts because I was in such good shape, that was incorrect. It was because of my BCAA’s that my muscles were recovering so well after workouts. Without BCAA’s my muscles hurt in ways that I did not know were possible. I bought this brand in the unflavored version because I thought well that sounds healthier and it’s cheaper. They are great, but it is a terrible taste! Imagine washing your used gym socks and then drinking the water that you used to wash them with! Seriously it next level gross! I’m a cheap person, so I will finish the jar, but it’s going to be a long 90 days!

So far my husband likes this he has copd and it has made a noticeable change in his breathing. He had more energy he says he thinks it’s all from this. My daughter who is a pharmacist said she can’t see anything wrong with taking it. He says it doesn’t taste real good but he getting used to it. I think it comes in flavors now.

Only a 3 star cuz of the amount of BCAA in it. The taste mixed with a vanilla protein shake is awful and would not recommend. Recommend mixing with a fruit flavor drink to kill the horrible taste since it’s unflavored.
