Review: A must for your trip to Madrid - A friend gave me the Van Dam Madrid map for a trip last summer, and I just bought one to give to another friend who is going to Madrid soon, since I want to hang on to mine. GPS is great for getting from one place to another quickly and efficiently, but nothing beats a paper map you can look at and understand the relationships between different sites. The Van Dam Madrid map has a wealth of fascinating detail with detailed zooms of four different parts of Madrid, as well as a map of the metro. Last summer my wife and I had an airbnb near the Parque del Buen Retiro, and i particularly appreciated the considerable detail it has about the different parts and sites in that wonderful urban green space.
