3M 20907-180 Sand Blaster Sanding Sponges, 2.5 by 3.75 by 1-Inch

As a do-it-yourselfer, I tend to use a lot of hand-held sanding sponges. I have had good luck with 3M products and these sanding sponges are no exception. The 180 grit is a "fine grit", but not super fine. These sponges make fast work out of giving wood, plastic and most metals a quick and smooth finish (if the finish is already fairly smooth). I have even used these sponges to sand some areas on my car that were being repainted. They worked great for that purpose. These sponges are fairly stiff and hold their shape well. Yet, they are flexible enough to wrap around pipes and other rounded objects. As with most sanding sponges, these will develop small "snags and tears" if you hit a rough spot too many times. But I always feel that I get plenty of use out of each sponge. When I have a choice, I always buy sponges made by 3M.

The sanding blocks works great, if your having problems with it either A you do not know what your doing with the block and know how to use the corners to your advantage. B your using the wrong grit size for your project. But there is one in every bunch. Also! 3 hours and well lol it started to crumble around the edges but not complaining, lasted longer then the paper. Semper Fi.

I ordered this by mistake. I wondered why the package was so small. These are about the size of a bar of soap. Four sides are covered with abrasive. The core is a fairly stiff foam. I can compress the foam between two fingers about a 16th of an inch without much pressure but then it’s pretty firm. Might be good for wet sanding.

I'm mystified by this product. It's very easy to catch it on a corner, and it tears more easily than sandpaper (and costs much, much more). In under 5 minutes I'd torn it in 5 places, and into the trash it went. It also was totally clogged in a couple of spots and--I kid you not--burned through in another.

I can't believe how long the grit lasts on this sanding block! It is still nearly new where I would have used 3 cheaper ones by now. GREAT item.

je l'ai utilisée pour poncer mon enduit de carrelage ,elle est souple ,ponce juste ce qu'il faut sans trop forcer (je suis une fille) et s'adapte aux arrondis et aux rebords beaucoup mieux que le papier à poncer qui se déchire !

I've got a mountain of decorating on the go at the moment and needed some new sanding pads for skirting boards and door frames. I have loads of cheapy ones but wanted some better quality ones for that improved finish. 3M is obviously a well respected brand, and this pad follows that trend with a pad that holds up well in use. I was surprised with how rigid it felt out of the packet, it needs a fair amount of breaking in to get it to form to curves and I found myself returning to the cheap ones to finish off rounded edges.

A foam filled abrasive block which works well. I tried it around my door-frame. It is designed to smooth between coats, but I have used it for general sanding down of woodwork before sugar-soaping and then painting. I like blocks and prefer them to ordinary sandpaper. Easy to handle. Nice gritty texture. Clogs less than ordinary sandpaper blocks. I would definitely use this again.
