Plug-In Adapter for Ring Video Doorbell Pro (1st generation)

Was looking to wire our ring video doorbell version 1 as pain to keep charging it every 3 weeks during winter months and when weather is poor. Bought this ring adapter off Amazon. Work a treat. Was replacing our front door and frame to A rated version so got installer to put cable between wall and frame so No drilling.Easy to install. It takes24 hours for the ring app to show it wired ,this is normal I'm told by ring.Important to fully charge your ring video doorbell first before plugging up to video doorbell otherwise will be below 70% charge all the time . If you fully charge .will hold between 90% to 95% charge as all the adapter does is give trickle charge all the time. If it goes below 90% ,dont worry ,this is normal, even if it was wire from fusebox ,would do same.I recommend this ring adapter. Worth every cent or penny depending where your from . Comes with cable clips to keep wire tidy.

Although the description clearly says this is for a ring doorbell pro only. I actually bought this to power a ring doorbell 2 after reading another review here. I noticed that my ring 2 battery draining within 2 months. Rather than buying a second battery I decided to get a permanent power source. I initially considered some slightly cheaper alternatives but decided on rings own adapter as it exactly matches the power requirements for the ring 2 doorbell. This plug in adapter appears to work perfectly for the ring 2. I've enabled all features in the ring including hdr, frequent alerts and snapshots which I was unable to do previously due to battery drain. The battery charge can drop lower on occasion as it's used for e.g. with frequent use of live view however it slowly recharges back upto 100%. I'd estimate it recharges at approx 1% a day. Plug doesn't get hot during operation. Nice long cable allows it to be run from the doorbell to a plug inside the house but some planning required to tack it in and around skirting etc.

If you’ve managed to get your hands on a UniFi G4 doorbell and don’t have an existing doorbell or the will or the means to get power from your consumer unit then this Ring power supply works out of the box with it.I felt much safer using this than many of the unbranded Chinese offerings on Amazon. This is well built, powers the G4 perfectly and doesn’t get overly hot.

Wasn't sure if this would be compatible with the ring doorbell 1 , the one with the fixed battery, but it works a treat. I read a few reviews before buying and it has worked out great, no more taking out the battery and charging. Think the only problem you may have is how to route the cable to a socket but there is enough there to work with. A good power supply that doesn't heat up. Brilliant!!.

This item works perfectly with my Ring Doorbell 2.Original Ring product so great quality. One thing to consider before you buy, you will require a working battery as they work in conjunction with each other, the power adapter does not power the Ring Doorbell 2 on it's own. Very easy to install, it doesn't matter which way round the wires go, just plug it in and you're away.Highly recommend you purchase one.

Does the job exactly as expected, was a pain to thread the cable through a cavity wall to the door bell, so had to drill a bigger hole. Overall can't complain as it does exactly as expected, however it's annoying having to pay £20 odd quid AFTER buying a £200 doorbell. Bring forced to pay for a transformer separately is not cool.

OK so like others tried 3 other so called ring adapters and didn't work but this works well on my ring gen 1 bell, only issue is you have to have the adapter plate that goes onto the back of the ring doorbell that has the two screw terminals on it, if you have that then it will work white led comes on which is the indicator that mains is on, I also have a solar cell plugged in as well in case power goes down and failing that it still has the battery in the bell all work well together, it turns out that buying something with the ring logo on it works well with ring devices, go figure lol. Even though it says ring Pro I can confirm that as long as you have the backplate with the screw in power terminals that it will work with a gen 1 ring doorbell, not sure about gen 2 or gen 3 but gen 1 works.

Finally! I've had some knock off product that have cost more, so it was a great surprise to stumble on an official one from Ring. Its been 24hrs and I am still at 100%. The last time that happened I had a solar panel from a company that worked well but died after 2 years. I am so impressed I bought a second cable for the main door and now have no objections to drilling a hole in my wall for a cleaner look. I am currently using this on my ringdoorbell 1 which ate about 5% battery a day. It was so buggy I bought the ring doorbell 2 on black Friday. Although I only have to charge it up every 2 or 3 months. Buying another one should make the battery charging a thing of the past.
