I'm a new diver and this was my first regulator set up purchase based on the other reviews you see on this page. I have zero regrets. For less than $200, this regulator breathes like a dream. It has now been on 23 dives with me, including cold fresh water down to 60 ft and 105 ft in Carribean ocean water. It breathes just as well at 5 ft as it does at 105 ft. It is simple and basic, but that means less chance of breaking because there are fewer parts on it that can be points of failure. I had no issues with freezing in the 1st stage at depth, but I also wasn't in water colder than 68 degrees Fahrenheit.If you want a manual SPG guage and a wireless transmitter, you're going to have to purchase a high pressure port splitter because this 1st stage only has one HP port. I changed out the 2nd stage hose for a 28-inch mi-flex one and I changed out the mouthpiece for a custom molded one. I dove 17 times in a week with this set up with ZERO issues and ZERO jaw fatigue.Expect to pay another $150-$200 if you're looking to tweak it the way I did. HP port splitters run about $80 on the low end.Other than the lack of a 2nd HP port, this set up is perfect for beginners and experienced divers alike who prefer less complicated, lightweight regulator set ups. With the upgraded mi-flex hoses, it weighs very little and travels extremely well.I could see these potentially replacing Sherwood rental gear at dive shops in the future because of how low the price point is for top quality performance.

I bought this because it was literally the cheapest reg I could find and i just needed one for a month or two while mine were off being serviced. They have worked perfectly, breathe great and have given me no problems what so ever. My only complaint is that the primary hose is a little short, so I generally use the octo and keep the primary on a necklace as a backup. Highly recommended and I will probably buy a second set for my pony bottle.

Got my tank ready to dive tomorrow, the regulator set got In tonight.I put it together, (glad I listened about the Yoke comment and ordered one since it didn't come with one. )And they sent the wrong hose for the main regulator, I got the octopus one and it's tested to work (will have to dive with just that tomorrow)So the product looks nice, will adjust the review after diving, but with not the right equipment, I'll need to buy a hose locally when I can after this dive.Update: Octopus works well. Was better than rentals I used. I'll just need to buy a hose for the regulator so I can have the full set up.

I bought this regulator after seeing how closely it looked like a ScubaPro MK2, Aqualung Calypso, Cressi AC2. There are only a hand full of companies making unbalanced first stage pistons and second stage regs these days. Maybe it's because they can make a sealed reg for cold water and sell it all over the world including the warm areas as well. What I can tell you is for me that simplicity is king and nothing is more simple than this. This has one moving piston inside and 2 o-rings for the piston. Modern regs with have sometimes 20 of them plus boat loads of other parts. In my 40 years of diving and countless regs the most failures I have had are with the complicated internal components of more modern regs. I have never had a failure with an simple piston reg ever. I use this reg routinely down to 150 ft and it breathes like a charm. I have analyzed this reg from top to bottom and have found this reg to be extremely well made. I have a newer Scubapro Mk2 EVO and find this one to be a better breather. SP has changed the internals of the new MK2 and added more parts and I find that was a mistake. They should have kept the old design. I have inspected the internals of this reg and found it to be solid and well built. I live and dive in Florida and this reg is now my primary reg. If you are diving in extremely cold water or in a sewer pipe maybe this is not for you and you may want to get a sealed reg. If not save yourself money and get a good computer instead would be my recommendation.

Excellent quality and perfect for recreational use. Make sure you get a yoke adapter if we use in the US as most dive shops don’t have tanks that use the DIN

Returned it I picked the wrong type of attachment (DIN), my fault!

Ive taken these regs to 250ft and had absoloutly no problems with them. They dont break under pressure and breath well.

Good , cheap regulator.Don't care for the hoses but for a pony set up works pretty good .120ft plus no problems

I've used these Regulators for about a dozen dives now in fresh and saltwater and the breathing is nice but I still wish it had a venturi on it to adjust but overall, it's great. This is the first regulator I've owned and it's good so far.Edit: I've now done over 30 dives with it and it still works amazing. I actually plan on buying a 2nd set of this to put on my spare tank as I plan to start diving twinset this summer :)
