True to size? some say these run big. i usually wear 9's, but the go walk 5 (different material) in store was snug in the toes. 9.5 fit better.

These run big, in my opinion. I have several pairs of various different styles of Skechers and they are all size 9. The size 9 in the Go Walk 5 was too large. They are longer and wider than my Go Walk 4 pair. They slip on the heel when I walk, yet it rubs my heel raw. The toe box is round and the shoe is wide from toe to heel. My size 9 orthotic inserts were too small to fit in these shoes.

Is the toe box wide enough to accommodate a bunion?

I am not sure, but I have a bunion and the beginning of a hammer toe on my right foot. It seems to be okay for me. I bought these shoes because the toe box is a little taller than the other Skecher shoes which seem to slope down to a flat toe. It works for me. You might try a half size longer which has the effect of giving more space. Sorry I couldn't be of more help..
