Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, Vol. 1 (Volume 1)

I have read all the Puella Magi manga and spin offs aside from the original series, and this has the best artwork I've seen! I really am not fond of the cover art, but I understand they were trying to set it apart from other PM works- it's even a different size so it doesn't sit flush with all the other PM manga like they all do with one another. It does not follow the exact same storyline as the mobile game, and as far as I can tell it's a slight difference from the anime as well. Themes and major events are the same - I think the manga improved upon the original story and the anime will further improve or clarify it. Can't wait to get the next volume!

Unfortunately since the mobile game was shut down, there's no way to enjoy the source material unless you go to YouTube. The anime in my opinion, was ok. But that's where the manga comes in, it's in the middle ground in terms of covering content. I'm sure the manga won't skip out madoka and homura's sub plot or rush the story so, this manga adaptation will be a much more enjoyable experience. The art style is great too, so that's a plus. If you enjoy the madoka magica series, played magia record, or watched magia record anime and want more then I highly recommend picking this manga up.

Even though I do prefer the anime over the manga (which is rare) it's a good story and worth the price and wait.

As a longtime fan of Madoka Magica, I’ve always been super interested in the MagiReco spinoff and all of its neat characters and the whole Doppel gimmick. I was super sad when they shut down the North American servers for the game, but I’m very happy that I still get to read the manga! The art style in this manga is absolutely gorgeous and stays true to Ume Aoki’s character designs. The story itself is pretty good and I look forward to picking up future volumes. No death and despair quite yet, but knowing the Madoka series, that’s bound to change in future volumes.

Super Manga. Zuerst hab ich gedacht die Serie und der Manga sind für junge Mädchen aber die Story ist so ernst also dass kann sich jeder ansehen. Ich liebe die Bilder.

love madoka magica, so i bought the spinoff series, and im LOVING IT!! magica record give us more mami content cause yk how she got cut short in madoka magica (the show) 😞 plus although its a spinoff from the main 5, its got me intrested in what theyre doin and im all for it!! i wont spoil much, so id reccomend watching or reading magica record!

Magia Record basado en el juego móvil da una nueva historia dentro del universo de Madoka, el arte es bueno y aunque el inicio es algo lento y deja muchas preguntas es un buen inicio para la adaptación al manga, solo queda ver si va a estar a la altura del juego, el cual honestamente es de lo mejor que jamás se haya hecho de Madoka
