according to a best thermometer blog which tested 40 different ones, this was 5/5 for accuracy. I can't tell you if it's accurate since every thermometer I've got reads something different but this allows you set to the a tenth of a degree and allows a 0.3 or greater +or- setting. Honestly I've got two for two different tropical tanks because I just don't trust the thermostats on the cheaper heaters I got, now if the cheaper heater thermostat locks on then this will still control the temperature of the tank. It's a bit clunky with the all the cables but I'd rather that than worry about a heater cooking my fish. It's easy to set and remembers the setting if you have to unplug it and move it so you can set it at a convenient plug socket then move it to you tank. It's also got an alarm should something go wrong.

I received this yesterday from Amazon and had it running the tank within 15 minutes. I did have a D D controller but the values on that where fluctuating really badly all day. The Ink Bird is a great piece of kit, shows your set temperature and the current temperature at the same time. Tank is now stable at 26 C. .

Had to calibrate using a glass float thermometer but now it set and with the hot weather the uk have just had works a charm.

Admittedly many other users would prefer to have chilling. It's reasonably easy to set, make sure to set the alarm for high and low as the default will result in dead fish long before the alarm sounds.

very pleased just what I wanted made a mistake and order the heater only version so my advice read the description ensure you know what you are ordering cam be confusing did not know their were so many variants

I have used this item for a week now on my fish tank. Being able to set a temperature with high temp & low temp alarms is a god send. No more worrying if my heater fails. The alarm will go off if the temp goes above or below my chosen temps to alert me. I will definitely be buying more for my other tanks. A+++++ from me.

I have the non removable metallic ink bird thermometer and I think it measures better the temperature than this one. Still a good product but prefer and would go of the other model

This is an absolute must for anyone looking to protect their fish in their aquarium. With heaters in tanks constantly on an on/off cycle. It's not if they will fail. But when. Thanks to this simple cost effective device. It ensures it protects your fish and gives you the time to spot the issue and replace your heater. Also clever that it can also control a fan to cool the tank when it gets too hot. Highly recommend!
