To be honest, you do get what you pay for it's not the best, but it works just fine. It's less sticky than the expensive brands, but that isn't all that bad for gaff tape. If you want to tape on a bumper, that would be a no, if you want to tape down cables for the day so people don't trip then your good and that is the point of gaff tape!

This tape is exactly as described. Every photographer should have this item in their bag of tricks. I used it to hold photo paper in place and tape down cords. It peals off easily and has never left residue on any surface. The tape tears with out scissors.

It is unfortunate that we can’t give zero stars for a product review…To consider this any form of an adhesive tape would be doing a grave disservice to a Teflon pan coated in butter…The first signal that this so-called tape wasn’t going to work was when I noticed how easily it seemed to drift from the roll. I mean, you couldn’t get the stuff to stick if your life depended on it. OK, Perhaps that was a bit hyperbolic… because if you stick two lengths of it adhesive side to adhesive side, it is impossible to part the two.HOWEVER…Should your needs require use of this tape to hold anything to another surface, you’ll need another roll of a different brand of tape to do so. This material (and whatever it claims to have as some form of adhesive property) Will imbue you with a false sense of actually doing the job, And then promptly releasing itself from whatever temporary bond you may have felt that you created, And begin to drift away in a slight breeze.Absolute garbage; Do yourself a favor and buy anything else. Heck, dig around in a trashcan for something heavy to lay on top of whatever you need to hold down.What a waste of my money.

I use this for extension cords for a sound system. It works great! Stays in place.

Awesome bang for buck gaff tape. Admittedly I was buying this so my son could use it without stealing my more expensive tape. It compares favorably though with excellent gaffy-stickiness and no residue in short term usage.Will update if my thoughts on that change. :)

The WELSTIK Black Gaffers Tape is… fine. For basic tasks, it gets the job done. The matte, non-reflective finish blends well on dark surfaces, and the easy-to-tear design is convenient for quick fixes. The waterproof claim held up in light spills. However, it fell short for my specific needs.I needed a tape that could secure heavier cables and equipment temporarily outdoors. While it adhered well initially, the hold weakened over time, especially in mildly humid conditions. After a few days, edges started peeling, requiring frequent reapplication. The waterproof label also felt misleading—when exposed to heavier moisture, the adhesive degraded, leaving a slight residue behind. For indoor, short-term use (taping posters, securing light cords), it works adequately. But for anything requiring robust adhesion or outdoor durability, it’s underwhelming.The tape’s thin material tears cleanly but lacks the ruggedness of higher-end gaffers tapes. I also noticed minor curling at the ends after removal, which isn’t ideal for professional setups..Overall, it’s a middling product. If you need temporary, light-duty tape for indoor use, this could suffice. But for demanding environments or long-term applications, you might want to invest in a heavier-duty alternative. It’s not bad—just limited in versatility.
