High End Coffee Shop Taste Without The High Price Of Boutique Coffee
I have made the switch from French press to pore-over several years ago with a dripper I got from World Market (pictured on right) and it was a noticeable difference in taste not to mention quicker cleanup. Recently I’ve seen drippers with three holes and thought it would be better as the original one has only one hole and was kinda slow to brew. So I set on a research journey for a new one and discovered this V60. Soon as I saw the big hole and the well defined flutings I knew I was onto something. After reading all the high reviews and seeing all sorts of videos on various types of brewing I knew this is the new upgrade. This morning I brewed coffee in the V60. The brewing process I followed was the 5 pour method and it took 2 minutes less than the previous dripper I have been using for years. But the biggest takeaway here is the taste of the coffee. Same method as I have been doing and completely different taste. Literally a high end coffee shop taste. At first I was surprised at the size compared to my original one. But that does’t matter since it’s a pour-over and you never fill it up. Second the quality and craftsmanship is superb. It is quite thinner than the original one so needs a littler more care when handling. Third it looks wonderful just standing there and you can tell that it’s a pro level dripper. Definitely worth the money if you want to great tasting coffee without spending $5 bucks at some coffee shop. If you are on the fence on making the purchase, I highly recommend it.

Love this! I've tried a few.
Solid little pour over coffee maker. Well made and just works. I have tried a few brands and this one just seems to work better and be more consistent. Trusted brand and makes great coffee.

The Only Pour Over Coffee Maker You Will Need
As I write this review I am sipping on a delicious cup of java made with my beloved Hario pour over coffee maker. I have used this ceramic device virtually every morning since 2019, when I originally purchased it. This means that this review is what I would consider "comprehensive" since the product has been tested for over 5 years, as of now! The ceramic is of very high quality, it definitely stands the test of time. The inside has spiral grooves which helps the coffee flow down through the grounds. It also comes with a handy scoop for measuring your grounds. The size of the maker might be smaller than you would expect, when compared to other pour over makers you may have seen. But do not worry this is not an issue, the size has no effect on the final product (coffee). I believe the size is actually optimal, not too big, not too small. It is the perfect size for a single cup of coffee. After years of brewing coffee with this maker, I have created the ideal method for the perfect cup of Java! First, take your coffee filter and place it in the maker. Pour hot/warm water on it so the entire filter is saturated/wetted with water. This helps mitigate the risk of any type of paper flavor passing into the final cup of coffee. After this, pour out the water from your mug and get ready to start brewing! Put your measured scoop of coffee into the now wetted basket and pour just enough hot water over the grounds so everything is saturated with water. This allows the grounds to "bloom", which basically means release co2 so you have a more flavorful cup of coffee. Let the grounds "bloom" for about 30 seconds then begin pouring hot water over the grounds until you have made a cup of coffee! TL;DR This is the perfect single pour over coffee maker. I have used mine continually for over 5 years!

So Good and So Easy. Never Going Back To French Press.
I am thrilled with this v60 dripper. I was so tired of cleaning the components on our french press every day. And, pour over makes a better coffee, it just does. This is the perfect size too, it sits so nicely on top of a variety of mugs we use. Cleanup is just trashing the filter and rinsing the dripper. We even wrapped this in a towel and took it on our last vacation because we really enjoy making our own coffee on our hotel room (and don't like the pod machines.

Recommended by Wirecutter for a reason
I purchase this in 2019 in order to get one more piece of plastic out of my kitchen. The fact that it's manufactured in Japan was a bonus. I've been using it daily since then. I bought the first box of filters from Hario, then I decided to use up my size 1 Melita filters. I fold them at the bottom, then fold in both sides. The stops the filter from tearing apart when adding water to the grounds. It brews coffee perfectly, and the Melita filters are much cheaper.

Quality piece but not necessarily better than cheaper products.
So it's a pour over coffee cone. it's not exactly rocket science and pretty much all of these things perform similarly. Likely the only reason you're even here is you want something "nicer", something that will "last forever" and possibly something that's "not plastic" (which can be desirable for lots of reasons) and you're ok paying a premium for it. Well I can attest that this thing is a well made piece of ceramic. It feels good, the glaze and formation are very even, it looks stylish, easy to clean, I have no doubt this thing could possibly last forever. works fine for my 16 Oz tumbler. So what are the downsides? well being ceramic it's vulnerable to chips and breaks, it's also quite heavy. But if you're here you're probably OK with that. The biggest downside? It completely covers the cup! Many of the plastic or metal ones have gaps in the brim so you can see the coffee level as you pour. With this thing you're pouring blind, you either need to measure ahead or keep lifting it up to check the level. So for that usability issue It loses a star. If you just need some coffee get a plastic or even clear glass one for 1/3 the price. If you want something that looks like a piece of decor but also makes coffee and you don't mind pouring blind. get this thing.

Excellent French Press Alternative
The Hario V60 Manual Drip Cone I've found that the Hario V60 is an excellent alternative to a French press. First, the V60 has an elegant design, and a very sound construction. It is clearly well made. If you are interested in this type of product, it may be helpful to know that Hario sells a plastic version of this drip cone for about $9.00. So you should be asking yourself, why would I want to pay the extra money to upgrade to a ceramic model? For me, I don't like the idea of hot plastic being anywhere near my coffee (or food for that matter). The second benefit of the ceramic model is that it retains heat MUCH better than plastic. With the pour-over method of coffee brewing, you need to plan ahead and pre-heat your drip cone, carafe and coffee cup or you will end up with a luke-warm cup of coffee. The ceramic makes this much easier. This product is not for everyone. If you prefer a Mr. Coffee that you can program to make your coffee for you, by all means skip the Hario. But, if you really care about the details of how your coffee is made, and you like being able to orchestrate the process yourself, the V60 is an excellent choice. I have a Bodum Brazil French press, which is equally well made. But I prefer the Hario. The French press extracts more caffeine from coffee than the manual drip method, it leaves sediment behind in the coffee, and studies have shown that French press style coffee may raise levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) in the blood. I don't take the cholesterol claims all that seriously, but I do find them interesting. Coffee people are very passionate about their preferred brew methods, and I appreciate the people in the French press camp. For me, the V60 is an excellent way to brew coffee in the exact amount I want to drink. And it's delicious! This drip cone, paired with proper technique (search youtube), will bring out the full array of flavors from your beans. I'm very happy with it, and give it 5 stars.

Beautiful cup of coffee.
Makes a great cup of coffee. Very sturdy, easy to clean and use. Makes a single serve cup (most cups, unless it was extremely wide). Price is a little more than some but the quality is well worth.

Muy buen producto
Tengo un v60 talla 2 que trabaja excelente para 800ml pero compre el 1 para hacer poco café y por taza y está genial. No se me enfría y los filtros tienen mejor costo. Lo recomiendo mucho para cantidades menores de café
