Meet Mr. Product: The Art of the Advertising Character

Meet Mr.Product is a small softcover book I got that I found very interesting full of many characters long forgotten or some that we fondly remember. great artwork and marketing that should be brought back in these sadly very modern and loose times. Some of these characters I have fondly remember some not politically correct but that has never bothered me and I am part of the offended generation. We have alot to learn from the past, Advertising should take note of this advertising anthropology and see where it has gone wrong. Take this trip down memory lane.

Love this book!

This is a great reference for vintage advertising character illustrations from days past. I purchased it mainly for inspiration, but it turned out to be a great source of nostalgia too. A number of my co-workers have flipped through it and remarked on remembering some beloved cartoon figure from their childhood. Highly recommend this book to anyone doing illustrations.

I love this book! It's so much fun to look at all of the brand mascots through the decades. It's a must-have for any graphic designer.

First off check the book's dimensions, it's about 5.5 inches by 6 inches. So it's a little small in size but there are a lot of glossy color pages so you definitely get a lot of material. On some pages there are 4 items to a page. Reproduction is good, paper is nice. Overall this was a good value.

So fun to look at the old characters for products, and will great for future inspiration.

This a great little book. It's beautifully designed and carefully put together, and the choice characters are just great. I do a little bit of character design in my current job, and find this book both inspirational and genuinely useful.

商品説明の欄にミスターピーナッツと書かれてあったので、すごく楽しみに購入したのにどこにも見当たらない…。一枚一枚丁寧に２７１ページを見たが掲載されていない…。載っていないのに載っているかのように書かれていて、それに釣られて買ってしまった…。中身が解らない分、説明を頼りに購入するしかないのでもっと販売側は考えて乗せてほしいよ。購入のきっかけは７０％ミスターピーナッツだったのでがっくり、それとも私のだけが抜けてるのか…掲載されてるなら、そのページを教えて〜。

アメリカのキャラクターには詳しくありませんが、この本はとにかくかわいいです！癒されます。ポストカードだったらもっとよかったのに、と思ってしまいました。このかわいい本をたくさんの人に見てもらいたいです！

広告のアートディレクターをしています。刺激＆勉強になっちゃいました。しかしアメリカ人って、表現が絶妙。入れ加減や抜き加減が全部狙いなのかと関心関心。キャラが生み出されてからの時間も良い味付けになっているんでしょうね。
