No problems connecting it to my Mac, data transfer rates very fast.

Ordered the drive as my MacBook was out of storage and the only option was to either place my photo library on a separate drive or buy a new laptop (2019 MacBook drive cannot be upgraded). A new laptop was really expensive so have gone for the separate drive. Searched for SSD drive and this WD drive came up at a decent price, unfortunately what I did not realise was that when moving up the capacity from 4TB to 5TB when placing the order the specs change from SDD to a HDD. Not what I wanted and am lumbered with the drive. It works well enough so far so no issues. I will have to get another SDD drive to act as back up to this one, so in all this will be a very expensive purchase. Should have been more observant but the ordering process should also have had a warning.

Truly plug and play with my MacBook Pro. I have managed to almost fill the 1TB SSD that came in my MacBookPro. I take a lot of photographs and they are resource hungry. I have offloaded my entire Photo library to the 5TB WD drive with no problem. It is tiny and will now travel in my camera bag with the MacBook without taking aup very much space o adding to the weight.

So disappointed with this and the customer service. Firstly I had to replace the cable within 3 months of buying this item, then 8 months in and with only 1TB of usage the entire drive has crashed. Contacted the support and they said it was likely the cable.....what again? Supposedly sending a new one but been waiting over a week now and still nothing. All my work that I sell is on the disk, I am losing sales and my reputation is being wrecked and they don't seem to even care! I hope nobody else has to go through this. I don't usually post negative reviews and maybe I just got unlucky but I would expect the support to be much better.

Bought this hard drive a month ago. Seems well made and strong. Massive capacity. Have been using it as a stationery drive on my Macbook - as some other portable drives, ahem, S**gate, can fail if moved around too much. Have an older Western Digital portable hard drive, bought 7 years ago. Still working with occasional use. It's nice that the Mac version of this Passport hard drive comes with a USB C adapter, meaning it's future proof if I upgrade my laptop etc.

Bought this to augment my NAS WD drive and have a full backup. 1st transfer of files took several hrs , over 1.5TB not really used as a direct drive yet.

I bought this to replace my old WD external drive which I use to back-up my Mac via Time Machine (it died after a long and faithful service - sad times). All previous drives had to be formatted or some kind of hardware wizardry performed which was always above my pay grade and understanding - this little thing was literally plug in and go, Time Machine-ready and none of that pesky formatting. Also good amount of space.

A well trusted brand. Easy setup and use, with useful features like password protection. Quality build, though slightly on heavy side for the 5TB Mac version.

Rien à redire sur ce DD WD, comme à chaque fois. Je ne suis jamais déçu avec WD et je n’achète que cette marque, depuis plus de 15 ans.

El producto de momento es genial, eso sí. El paquete en el que venía daba pena verlo. No obstante, el producto tiene sus buenos 4,5tb por poco más de 100€

Son muy buenos discos, por desgracia si los llegas a golpear despídete de ellos, así que cuídalos mucho, El nivel de seguridad es bastante bueno

Bu ürünü kesinlikle almayın çünkü veri aktarımını olması gereken hızda kesinlikle yapamıyor; stabil şekilde çalışmıyor. Zaman içinde kopyalama hızı düşüyor; halbuki USB 3.0 bir porttan saniyede en az 100MB hıza ulaşması gerekirdi!! Kopyalama hızı, USB 3.0 olan bir bilgisayarda saniyede 40MB hıza bile çıkamıyor; korkunç! Western Digital'in bu ürünleri piyasaya sürebiliyor olması gerçekten garip (WD olarak tüm yeni aldığım disklerde aynı sorun ne yazık ki var). Benzer şekilde Toshiba Canvio 4TB disklerim de var ve mükemmel çalışıyorlar; kopyalama yaparken stabil olarak saniyede 140MB hızla kopyalama yapabiliyor. WD almanızı kesinlikle tavsiye etmem/edemem (Türkiye'ye gelen ürünlerde ciddi problem var; 5 adet WD diskim var: 4 tanesini TR'den, 1'ini ABD'den satın aldım. Amazon üzerinden Türkiye'de satın aldıklarımın hepsinde aynı sorun var).
