Himalaya Premium Natural Shaving Soap - 4 Oz Puck

Great shaving soap by HC. This is the first time for me to use this soap and I have to say it is brilliant. Cames in a nice box and wrapped in plastic. Smell awesome and kind of smooth. Good thing is that my wife likes it as well, as usually she wouldn't like the smell of products for men that much. So it is really smooth, soft and leaves the face soft as well, you can smell it but it's really a gentle scent. It fit perfect in one of my shaving cups, I did heat it up a little bit so it took the shape of the bowl, but it was really close fit in the first place. It makes really nice lather as well, you really need few strokes over the soap to get amount that is going to be enough for one shave. In the photos attached I circled the brush around on top of the soap for about 10 times and it gave me enough lather for a good shave. It all depends how you like to make it, but I don't like when lather is too firm and thick, I do like it to be softer a little bit and I can do that easily with this soap. Once when on the face it will dry out pretty quick and make the face softer, then I would usually apply soap one more time and shave in few minutes after that, with the amount of soap I had here I had more than enough to cover the whole face 4 times. It is really a nice shaving soap and I enjoy using them for day to day shaving. This one will probably last me around a year or so, I do have other soaps as well so I kinda rotate between them, depending on my mood and how do i feel. :-) Thanks

I don't always review what I buy, but in this case I feel I must. I wish I had discovered this shaving soap before now, it is truly amazing stuff! First impressions, the box it comes in is quite attractive with a classy appearance, the soap puck is nicely wrapped in plastic to keep it from drying out, and the scent is pleasant and not overwhelmingly strong. To sum up my experience, I am done with shaving cream in the can. I got a closer shave with no pain of any kind, and my face was left very smooth with no razor burn at all. I was contacted by the seller after placing my order, with a very warm "thank you" and advice on how to best use the soap. After showering and being sure to wash my face well, I lathered the soap with warm water and my shaving brush. First thing I noticed was the nice thick lather this soap makes. I brushed it on in a circular fashion and allowed it to sit for a couple minutes, occasionally adding some water with the brush. This is when I started really enjoying this product. I started to feel a slight cooling and tingling sensation. The soap lubricated my skin so the razor simply glides along, no nicks or discomfort at all. When finished I lathered up for a second pass and this was just as pleasant as the first. If you have sensitive skin like I do and dread shaving like I have, you definitely need to try this shaving soap. My words cannot do it justice, it must be experienced. I am actually looking forward to my next shave, something I never thought I would say. I will be buying this again!

I'm a newbie wetshaver, used an electric razor for 20 years or so because wetshaving was always uncomfortable for me. I started out using cheap disposable blades when I was young and that was probably part of the problem. Several weeks ago, I went back to wetshaving because I noticed my electric wasn't cutting like it used to and I didn't want to go back and buy another one. So I did some research on google and amazon and I purchased a DE Merkur with some pre-shave oil, two different shaving soaps/creams, several different aftershaves, and a mug and brush. I'm extremely happy I did - I now have no idea why anyone would use a disposable. I look forward to shaving now, it's sort of therapeutic with the right tools. Specifically in reference to this soap...I purchased this and the Proraso green tube of cream to compare with one another. These are the only two I have used, so I have a limited view here. I started out several shaves with the Proraso and then I tried this when it came in the mail. I definitely like the easy ability in lathering this soap. I soaked the soap in hot water with my brush when I was in the shower, and this helped a lot I believe. There's a youtube video out there of a young man rubbing the soap directly on his face, no brush, cheap disposable razor, no lather at all. I encourage you to get the right tools to get the most out of this soap. It was definitely comfortable, nice pleasant mild odor, and I'm sure this will last a long time. I would purchase this again. But...and keep in mind I'm not being paid to review either product, I have to give the Proraso tube cream 5 stars and this 4. If this was the only product I'd ever tried, it would get 5 stars. But the Proraso had a methol effect that cools the skin, which I liked. And I noticed that the Proraso is very slick; when lathered properly, I could barely feel the blade cross my skin. With the Cavendish soap, by the time I hit my third pass, I was feeling the blade and my cheeks were feeling sensitive. So...if you haven't tried the Proraso, give it a go, the Italians cracked the code. But I also like this soap and I'm not trying to sell it short. I'll alternate between the two until each are depleted, and if my opinion changes over time, I'll be sure to update this review.

Honestly, one of the nicest shaving products I’ve ever used. I figured with the reviews it was going to be at least somewhat decent but it far exceeded even those expectations. Just like everything else you may have read in the other reviews, smells amazing, lathers up extremely well, little bit goes a long way and my skin does actually feel better after a shave. Kinda the real deal.

For those who are interested in Wet Shaving, let me give you a little background. In the Army I discovered that my Curly hair extended to my facial hair. When I used two or more blades, the hairs would sometimes get stuck under the skin, growing and creating sores that suck big time. I tried electric razors and had the same experience. Then a friend turned me on to “Wet Shaving”. The old fashioned Safety Razors of my Grandfathers era. I was dubious, and after a couple weeks razor bump free I was a convert. Wet Shaving is a little more time consuming. I’ve tried other Shaving Soaps. They are all reasonably OK, but this one lets you start at the beginning properly. First, you get a bowl or mug for your soap. You start by gently heating a pot of water, and put the bowl or mug in the water with the soap. The soap should melt, and become bonded to the bowl when cooled. This makes working up a later much easier with the brush, and you aren’t chasing the soap around the mug hoping the soap residue will hold it. This stuff melts well, bonds well, and works up a lovely lather. Everything a shaving soap is supposed to do. It’s my preferred brand, and I have tried others, but Cavendish is the best all around from my experience.

This is an outstanding product that I buy over and over. It's a great way to start the day. No excessive fragrance like many other shaving soaps.

I recently switched from safety razor to a straight razor and began searching for that next level shave experience. I have tried three other soaps going from ok to terrible to adequate and then I found this soap. This soap has a WOW factor that makes me want to shave. With the proper technique, it produces the richest creamy lather I have ever experienced that lasts throughout the shaving process and doesn't require reapplication between passes. It also leaves skin baby's butt soft and moisturized. This fregerance is very subtle but enhances the shave experience without lingering post shave. I can't wait to try the sandlewood and lavender scents next. There are less expensive soaps that are adequate for a utilitarian shave, but if you want a truly luxurious and wonderful shave experience, I highly recommend this product. And while a bit pricey, I have found it takes very little soap to produce a great lather and expect it to last as long if not longer than most other soaps I have tried.

I have a very sensitive skin and this soap helped a lot with shaving. It's gentle and smells really good. Would buy again and recommend.

Je suis novice depuis début octobre avec l'utilisation d'un rasoir de sureté (muhle R89,blaireau de piètre qualité pour le moment) et j'utilisai un savon un barbe correct mais qui séchait rapidement.Suite à vos avis positifs sur le savon Himalaya de Henry Cavendish, je me suis lancé... Trés bien emballé,bonne odeur (mais la prochaine fois,je prendrai le Lavender), je l'ai facilement coupé en deux pour le mettre dans une ancienne boite de savon à barbe. Ce savon à barbe mousse rapidement et ne sèche pas. Vraiment satisfait de cet achat.
