Love this tikka masala paste. If like me you don't like hot chillies nor salt then this is very very mild but flavoursome . I could adjust the amount of paste to my liking. Just for my taste, I added extra fresh herbs and spices, including coriander, freshly roasted ground cummin, chopped onions and vegetable stock cube to my 1.5kg lamb dish then added 5 heaped table spoon of the aromatic tikka paste and marinated for 1hr (don't need to), and slow cooked until the meat tenders. Delicious with spicy sautéed potatoes with roasted cubes of aubergines and freshly made flatbread.

Great tasting base paste for making large curries. Plenty of strong spicy flavour, without being too hot, and good oil content makes it easy to fry off before adding liquids etc . Also keeps for a long time after opening and doesn’t go off, a few months I believe. Good value considering how many portions you get from it .

Wow, I took a punt on this as my very fussy son loves chicken tikka curry which my mother seems to cook the life out of! First this is not like the sauce jars you buy, oh no, this is something very different and extremely tasty. Marinade the chicken (or any meat of choice) leave for a few hrs to overnight and then just cook your simple sauce up. Paste, onion, garlic, ginger, tin of tomatoes, double cream & water. This is proper Indian restaurant/take away flavour. Absolutely delicious. I’ve made 4 curries out of this, I could have done possibly 5 if I wasn’t so heavy handed! You only need 4 serving spoons & some yogurt if you want to marinate. Last 6 months in a cupboard once opened. Will never buy those sauce jars again. This is the way! Yum yum. Enjoy!

If you love making curries from scratch and love to have the take away curry taste without the oil/fat. This is a Tikka Masala Paste paste for you. They are so easy to create and this paste can be used for other meals as well. 1 jar goes a very long way and so much better than the ready made jars you can purchase from the supermarket. A must have for your cupboard.

Seems to much oil in there

I am a big fan of the Patak's curry pastes and this one was no exception. Really easy to use, giving a really authentic flavour. The family said it was better than takeaway - so definitely a hit in our house! You don't need lots of the paste so the big jar lasts for ages. It works particularly well done in the slow cooker, for a really rich flavour.

I had to put loads in to get a significant curry flavour, which tasted nothing like a tikka curry. I would not buy again, especially at that very high price (in my opinion).
