Not HID compatible.
Worked fine, but not with HID cards.

Did not work
I tried to install this reader at my church. It will not even acknowledge 26-bit a fob being presented despite having the proper 12vdc voltage. No beep, no color change on the LED, nothing. That same fob works on other readers with no issues. The reader should acknowledge a fob or card being presented regardless of it being connected to an access control system. I have nearly 20 years as a technician in the electronic security industry and know access control systems.

Works with Raspberry Pi
I bought this to test the interface with a Raspberry Pi and managed to get it working very reliably with little more than a pair of small signal diodes to block to the 5V signals from coming back to the Pi's GPIO. The device works very reliably.

Save your money
I ordered one to test before I ordered more I like the look of the device but it did NOT work. I have been using an access controller for years at my house, car lot's, trucking company and I always like for my systems to work and look nice

Wasn't tested before production
The led and beep wires aren't functional. Also the firmware lights the green way too long after card scan. If its an invalid card I don't want the reader to turn green.

I bought this item to make an access control system with an electric door strike and my raspberry pi. The reader itself is pretty easy to use and the Wiegand bits are quite easy to program on the pi. A note for people who will be using a pi like myself - the d0 and d1 outputs are 5v so you will need a logic level shifter from 5v to 3.3v for your pi to handle safely
