Veloster Rear end jump/bump steer 99% gone
2013 Veloster base dct. OMG been considering a rear torsion bar for a year. Now bought these instead for less cost than a bar. These shocks solved almost all of the rear end jumping out of line on bumps, causing twitchy steering. Hated it for a long time. Even replaced old rear shock absorbers with factory ones, still had the same problem. Just took a 40 min drive. And they aren't too stiff by any means for a lightweight car like this. Holy cow so much better. Hopefully longevity is good. Considering kyb front struts. I also carry a 120lb sound system in the trunk. These do awesome with that too. Night and day difference. 2 year update: still BETTER than new factory absorbers. BUT broke in very well now the steering issue partially came back...Not to the point of complete frustration like before. Still satisfied enoigh with the price for how much of the issue is resolved.

Easy 30 to 45 minute installation if you have
Installed two rear KYB #554384 Gas-A-Just Shocks on a 2015 Kia Forte5 SX with 54,000 miles. Same rear suspension as a Hyundai Elantra and Veloster. BIG improvement in the ride: much less rear end hop and crashing noises over bumps, less stepping sideways, quieter inside. I wish I had installed these 30k miles ago. These shocks are a huge improvement over the stock units and are a very inexpensive upgrade at ANY MILAGE. Easy 30 to 45 minute installation if you have: a floor jack, jack stands, torque wrench and a rubber mallet. There are a couple of YouTube videos that step you through the process or buy a pair of these and point your mechanic to the videos. We’ll see how they last. Highly recommended.

The perfect shock absorber
2017 Kia Forte5 LX. One of the reasons I decided to replace my rear shocks at 62,000 miles was because my OEM shocks were no longer able to safely hold the load of 4 passengers. The other reason, of course, was for better performance overall when I drive. My car now seems to brake and accelerate faster, react to steering inputs quicker, and turn out of corners easier without losing traction on the inside wheels. And as other Hyundai/Kia owners have stated, I also feel like I should have swapped the rear shocks out with KYBs much sooner.

Glad I went KYB for my rear shock replacments
These KYB Gas-a-Just shocks single handily improved the ride quality of my Hyundai Elantra. No more bump steer from the rear over bumps in the road. Relatively easy installation, just had to give a little elbow grease to push the shock into the exact mounting location. Having a helper push through the bolts from the wheel well made installation easier! Thus far, I am satisfied with my purchase.

My Hyundai Elantra rear shocks went bad after only 35
My Hyundai Elantra rear shocks went bad after only 35,000 miles. Serious cupping on my tires, but fortunately they were due to be replaced anyway. Very easy to replace, but you have to be extremely careful when threading top bolt back in. The nut is in a cage, but can move, so it's really easy to cross-thread (and not very easy to tell if it's started right or not). I cross threaded one side, and spent about 2 hours trying to find a 10x1.25 tap/die (finally found one at Rural King of all places...so if you need a tap/die and there's a Rural King in town, try there first!) Shocks are great, and hopefully will protect my nice new tires for years to come.

nice replacement for oem
nice replacement for my 2013 Hyundai Elantra rear shocks. with only 50k miles my rear shocks were crap. This was worth the money and a nice upgrade. install was easy. Isolate the side, unbolt, slip the new one in (its a little bit of a tight fit), bolt it up and then be happy that it was a cheep repair. I laughed at Hyundai for such a cheep part. glad KYB makes a nice replacement. waiting for the front strut replacement to be offered by kyb.

Shocks APPEAR to be failing after LESS THAN 2 YEARS
I "agonized" over researching rear shock absorbers for my 2015 Hyundai Elantra, after getting the ridiculously expensive estimate from Pep Boys if I had them supply both the parts and the labor to replace my OEM rear shocks. After much research and reading LOTS of reviews, I decided on getting these KYB, which seemed to get great reviews and were high-rated. However, I had them put on soon after they were shipped to me (Feb. 15, 2023), and here we are on October 14, 2024, and the rear shocks seem to be failing. I've done the push-down test, and the car bounces more than twice in the rear. It's VERY DISAPPOINTING, since shocks are supposed to last between 50,000 and 100,000 miles. Yes, I travel to Pittsburgh at least 6 times a year to visit my daughters--and Pittsburgh roads are PRETTY HORRIBLE--but STILL, the car otherwise doesn't get driven much while at home in Maryland--mostly by my youngest son, to get to his college (less than 10 miles away) and his jobs (right across from each other and less than 3 miles away), so I don't understand WHY these shocks would have failed so quickly... EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED !!! I'm contemplating trying a slightly cheaper shock by KYB, BUT the one I'm considering reportedly has an upper attachment that is TOO BIG to fit the Elantra, so it has to be ground down. I believe my mechanic did NOT have to grind anything down when he installed these KYBs 18 months ago. Unfortunately, I HAVE TO PICK OUT A PAIR OF SHOCKS, whatever brand I get, as I need them replaced ALREADY !!!

Better than original
Definitely improves handling on 2016 Elantra GT GLS. I replaced the old shocks after 180K kms but I’m convinced these shocks provide better handling than the OEMs did when I got the car new. They give smoother ride even on this old car and most importantly: fix those nasty rear tracking issues on bumpy curves. Should have done it earlier!

A necessity for improvement in drivability!
Solid product and investment. Found this significant upgrade on YouTube and couldn't be happier. OEM rear suspension was garbage and would not handle an adequate load. Almost an immediate give on the OEM shock as you would put your weight on it. The KYB? Not so much. Having the two parts side by side, one could clearly see a difference in build quality. If you drive an Elantra, this is a must have and you will not regret this purchase.
