What's in My Truck?

This is a very vibrant book but it’s too much to process with little reading. It is not ideal for my almost two year old. It is too visually busy and stimulating for bedtime reading.The flaps are too hard even for my four year old. We didn’t tear them but I can already see that my two kids under five are going to tear them when they try the book themselves.

My youngest son and I love these books. He first got the "What's in My Train" book and it is definitely on the Top 10 naptime favorite picks for him. I ordered this book hoping it'd be just as good and it is. He loves lift-the-flap books, but I'm always sketchy about books where you lift the flat only to find 10 paragraphs of minuscule text underneath. I love reading, he loves reading, but I don't want to read him a cardboard novel right before I'm trying to get him to take a nap, especially because he normally picks more than one book. He can't read on his own yet (he's 4) but I also feel 5 levels of mom guilt when I knowingly skip words and text just so we can get the book over with already. These are just the right amount of interactive, cute, entertaining, and simple. I don't mind reading him the whole thing and lifting every flap. I enjoy the fact that they're colorful and cute, and that the flaps are durable and don't get stuck "open" or easily rip off. I also give double brownie points that these books are small in size so they're easy to throw in the car or in a bag for a plane trip.

This book way exceeded my expectations! It has so many differently shaped flaps - some flaps have holes so you can see behind them, some have counting exercises, some have color exercises. My 10 mo daughter can't appreciate much of that yet, but she loves opening flaps and loves the variety offered here. I also like the size. In my opinion, this is the perfect size for the diaper bag and car. Big enough that she can put it on her lap, but not so big that she can't turn the pages easily. I may be buying others in the series soon.

Purchased for a 14 month old little boy that loves all things wheels and motors. Cute little book but the pages are so busy it is overstimulating for a toddler.I think a board book is for a young child. I find after many years of teaching a young child doesn't need too much to distract from the topic or they get lost and lose interest. The pages, though graphically pretty are too busy to hold a toddlers attention.

My grandson loves me to read this interactive book to him, which teaches counting and color skills throughout the book with flaps that he can open and close. Highly recommend!

Excellent book!! Each page is nice and thick. 13 month old easily turns the pages. There are many flaps on each page. I had to open them the first time. Under each flap is a picture and an extension question like what color is the car or what’s in the trunk. Holds toddler’s attention . He goes for it every day.

It is so cute my grandson is going to love it giving it to him on his birthday along with other books that I have ordered for him on Amazon.

Good book with lots of pictures inside. When we ordered it, we thought that "over 30 flaps" sounded great but as we went through the book with our child, we wished there were more pages to the book and more flaps. It's a good book though and it's fun for kids to open the "doors" and see what's inside.
